Guest guest
It is my understanding that the administration of Vitamin K began when hospitals wanted to allow baby boys )that were to be circumcised)to go home 'before' the 8th day of birth. Usually , an infants own body begins to manufacture it's own vitamin K(blood clotting vitamin) but not until day 8. Years ago mother's and infants stayed in the hospital for up to 2 weeks or more before being released from the hospital. In 1954 my mother stayed over 2 weeks----Even in 1970, I stayed 9 days! By that time, a baby boy could be safely circumcised without the risk of complications from hemorrhage because by that time the baby boy was already producing in his own body Vitamin K and could safely be circumcised without fearing hemorrhage. Today, due to insurance companies(HMO's) women and infants leave within a day or two of birthing. Everything is rush rush rush to get them out of the hospital 'quick' so save the insurance companies money of course. As a result circumcision takes place far too soon and baby boys would bleed to death after routine circumcision if the hospital did not give them a shot of Vitamin K. *Our creator again showing his wisdom in the Old Hebrew Scriptures!(I am not Jewish but this practice centuries ago is extraordinary!!!!) Guest guest
Has anyone looked into this hospital injection of Vitamin K? Anything else contained in this 'routine " injection for infants? Guest guest
> Now my question is, why should we give newborn Vitamin K? If most kids are born Vitamin K deficient than isn't a normal thing? Guest guest
Refuse it. It's a lie. Find a new doctor. A full term healthy infant is not a risk of hemorrhage or brain clot. This is usually seen in mothers who used drugs or were on anti-siezure drugs while pregnant. This shot is why babies get jaundice. The baby can be given oral vitamin K instead which is not toxic as is the shot. You can find the oral vitamin K protocol online, most midwives use this. > > I believe this topic has been discussed before but I need quick suggestion/feedback. Guest guest
Also, the company that makes the injection has a set up agreement with the state that the hospital receives a certain amount of money for each shot given..and in some cases this allowed a mandate to pass for Vitamin K injection. In my sate, you must home birth to avoid this shot. Other states allow you to refuse it. > > It is my understanding that the administration of Vitamin K began when > hospitals wanted to allow baby boys )that were to be circumcised)to go home > 'before' the 8th day of birth. Guest guest
God did not make babies vitamin K deficient. Your right. What it is, is some scientist decided to test infants Vitamin K levels back in the day and found that they are lower than other people. This does not make them " deficient " . It just means they need lower amounts than we do. As I understood it, they are supposed to get what they need from breastmilk. The mom gives them the K they need until their body is ready to process K and make K in any significant amount. Formula also has K in it. So where's the problem? The liver has problems processing too much K in infancy. The reason that jaundice is so widespread now, because we give babies high doses of synthetic K by injection. Jaundice in infants was unheard of before the practice of giving every baby a shot. I think the shots should be reserved for high risk infants, such as those whose mothers' used street drugs or took seizure medication. And even then...there is no reason OTHER than money, why we can't use natural vitamin K orally. I think if I remember right when I researched this for my sister last year....in Europe they use oral natural vitamin K for infants. The practice of " needing K " is an old school idea formed in the 50's that needs to be re-examined. > > Now my question is, why should we give newborn Vitamin K? And even then...there is no One other thing to consider- in addition to street drugs and seizure meds, you might want to consider an oral K instead of the injection if your child had a very difficult birth, such as vacuum extraction or shoulder dystocia, as they greatly increase the risk for intracranial bleeds. I had a homebirth with my son, who had dystocia, and due to the risks of bleeding from that we opted to go ahead with the oral K. Guest guest
Wow, think your pediatrician is a bully now? Just wait for the vaccine conversations! Don't give the shot, find a new pediatrician. Guest guest
I did. It does not contain any metals, but it does contain alcohol if you don't mind a drunk baby! It's synthetic K with benzyl alcohol and sugar. The risks of anaphalaxyis and death are clearly listed. This may explain why some seemingly healthy babies die mysterious shortly after birth and no one knows why. In my state they mandate that this injection be given within an hour of birth. Jaundice is the result if the dose is too high. Insert Information: http://vaccinetruth.org/page_7.htm > > Has anyone looked into this hospital injection of Vitamin K? Guest guest
Thank you everyone for your prompt feedback/suggestion and information links. They really helped. We are back home from the hospital and were successful in avoiding both the Vitamin K and hepatitis shot. Our kids Ped showed in the hospital the next morning and was telling my wife how dangerous it is not to give the vitamin K shot, blah blah... Reading through the useful links that you guys sent me. I can now say that Vitamin K shot is a waste. That rare bleeding occurs in 1 in a million babies and who knows that baby had some other health issues not just vitamin K deficiency. If all babies born have low vitamin K (as compared to what?) than it means God has made it that way. Furthermore, formula milk has vitamin K in it, so the baby will get it orally anyway. Why inject a booster K shot with preservatives? And of course there are side affects as well for taking that shot, which the doctors do not tell. This is our 3rd child. Our first two son had taken full vaccination. Our first son, 6, though his speech was delayed but he recovered on his own and is a smart boy. Our second son, 4, unfortunately got Mercury toxic and we are chelating him under AC protocol. We hope that he recovers soon. We also hope our newborn daughter will be the healthiest kid of ours. No vaccine for her till the age of 2! Thank you, -TS > > > > Has anyone looked into this hospital injection of Vitamin K? > Anything else > > contained in this 'routine " injection for infants? Guest guest
I would wait longer than that?! When/if you begin, only one vaccine at a time! [ ] Re: Vitamin K shot - should or should not?
