Guest guest
There are a lot of different opinions over there.... Tamaro is is the one to talk to... Vit K, iodine and phosphorus are several of the key nutrients that I have read about. All, that I can see, are related to how calcium works in the body and making it work better so that the body detoxes itself better... I don't know that it is a different protocol...to me seems like just more of an extension of what I am already doing. But I am no whizkid. lol Ronni > > Seriously folks, I don't have the motivation to look into an entirely > different protocol right now. What is the deal with this Vitamin K > thing? At my house, vitamin K was required for proper absorption of calcium and fat. >>They are cursing chelation over there because of the affect on > the kidneys. Use ALA, which does not stress the kidneys. Dana
Guest guest
Anything done wrong can be bad. As to chelating with the Cutler plan, I don't think so. If you are starting very low and goin slow and doing it for 3 days on and at least 4 off and giving the correct supps with....I think it is a major good thing. Many people feel that anything they don't understand or disagree with is a bad thing. Some things are bad and there is not a thing to be said that can change that....but chelation is not one of those. There have been some terrible things happen....but life is full of chances...you just have to pick the right one and continue carefully doing those correct things. I guess my thinking is that which is worse....for the metals to damage the kiddo or to remove the metals and free the child's body to function correctly. In my life, nuttin comes easy or free. Chelation is one of those things...it takes time effort and commitment...but the end result is worth it, at least for my kids. Guest guest
My understanding (as someone who's lurked over there but is not following the complete protocol because we don't have oxalate issues) is that they're using vitK, cod liver oil, DHA, baking soda, salt, iodine and maybe a couple other things to normalize kidney function. Many have seen crystals in their kids' urine and have seen problems eating high-oxalate foods. I've seen hints of calcium regulation problems without oxalate issues, so it can be bits and pieces. They've talked and written about adrenal and thyroid function being sub-optimal before or during chelation--I know the iodine is related to supporting the thyroid. I'm guessing that the anti-chelation comment came from doing a different type of chelation (I see references to IV instead of oral for the most part over there) and from frustration over the years of needing to stop chelation and deal with these other issues before they could re-start. It's generally a helpful and supportive group (even of people like me asking off-topic questions about vitamin K) so don't write them off too soon. Take care, and best wishes to you. > > Seriously folks, I don't have the motivation to look into an entirely > different protocol right now. What is the deal with this Vitamin K > thing? Guest guest
No . Don't be nervous, you will read about many groups who have negative things to say about chelation. Andy's protocol is the best and safest in my opinion. ALA is a strong antioxidant and if you are following the protocol properly, it shouldn't be harmful at all. It is important to keep a whole body perspective though and address symptoms as they appear. I was referred to Vit K group after expressing some concern over symptoms related to DMSA dosing. My son's dosing was a little to high and we didn't take enough time off inbetween rounds to let his body " normalize " . Andy's advice is " low and slow " , if your body starts to get stressed out, chelation is much less effective/efficient. > > > Seriously folks, I don't have the motivation to look into an entirely > > different protocol right now. Guest guest
We're chelating and will be adding the vitamin k protocol (minus a few of the elements) in order to remineralize our daughter's teeth. She's got a cavity and with precocious puberty, I'm afraid to use any type of plastic composite. -olivia > > > > Seriously folks, I don't have the motivation to look into an entirely > > different protocol right now. That right there tells you it is run by mentally ill people who just want to agitate everyone - kidney effects are NEVER seen in this kind of situation. Those are ONLY seen in acute, very high level toxicities treated with very high levels of chelators. E. g. some kind of catastrophe at a mercury using factory. Guest guest
Are they getting labs to confirm the need for these things, as well as labs to monitor? It doesn't take a ton of baking soda to do some really crazy things to one's electrolytes in a spin, particularly if a kid has seizures already. That said, I may be speaking out of total ignorance, this is the first I've ever heard of this particular protocol listed below.
