Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: donnasimon50 Hi All, We have completed 43 rounds of chelation per AC protocol with some nice steady gains up until 2 weeks ago where my son seems to have regressed. I was prepared for the stall/regression period but not at all prepared for this type of regression. He now uses less language and is hyper all the time day and night. ====>Any aggression, might be bacteria. Do you have some Oil of Oregano and/or OLE ? I know carpets let off VOC does anyone think this may have had an effect on him? It seems to coincide with the bad regression. ===>In case it is the carpet, no way of knowing, the Oil of Oregano would help as would some niacinamide and/or GSE. Hope your boy is feeling better soon. Looking forward to any suggestions and words of encouragement. Many thanks Donna.
Guest guest
I was going to suggest bacteria as well. What kind of probiotics are you using? The OLE and OoO are great suggestions too. Guest guest
Donna, in our house, more hyperactive, more stimming, or less verbal ( more screaming and whying..), it is yeast or/and bacteria overgrowth. You may boost up anti-fungal by GSE, or caprylic acid or biotin, and boost up anti-bacterial by OLE. Lot of Vit C. Staying away from sugar, apples ( feed yeasts), and add probiotic ( beneficial bacteria will create a lot of biotin to defeat yeast as well, plus balance and protect GI). My son just had some type of bacterial infection a week ago from school, most of kids and teachers were out sick, my son had minor fever, but sooooo, hyper and OCD... this is what we have been doing for him, today, he is doing much better, calm, happy, talk better and clear. Guest guest
Virus? I had this experience when after about an year of chelation some viruses became more active then they used to be before. Though it was not as bad and fast as you are describing. Still you might consider this possibility Galina > > Hi All, > We have completed 43 rounds of chelation per AC protocol with some nice > steady gains up until 2 weeks ago where my son seems to have regressed. > I was prepared for the stall/regression period but not at all prepared > for this type of regression. Guest guest
Thank you for all your replies. We have been using OLE, OoO, 60mg biotin daily, VSL and 6 caps candex daily. I'm not sure what else to do!! Since these have not helped maybe it is bacteria but how do I know for sure! This is so heartbreaking to watch and I'm terrified he will remain this way. He has recently started to bite his hand in frustration many times a day and also seeking sensory input. He will quite often leap into the air and come crashing down on the floor. The last couple of days he has been pressing his face very firmly against my face - what does all this mean??? Just when I thought I had everything sorted this comes along. Do I continue with chelation or give hime a break? Thank you Donna > > From: Ladyshrink111@ peoplepc. com <Ladyshrink111@ peoplepc. com> > Subject: Re: [ ] REGRESSION - HELP!! > > Date: Tuesday, September 23, 2008, 10:35 PM > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: donnasimon50 > > Hi All, > We have completed 43 rounds of chelation per AC protocol with some nice > steady gains up until 2 weeks ago where my son seems to have regressed. > I was prepared for the stall/regression period but not at all prepared > for this type of regression. Guest guest
Every September my older son gets what we call 'September Slide'. I first heard that term about 7 years ago on the gfcfkids board. Apparently my son isn't the only one. I think that it's the fall alleries, but it has happened every year. He turns into a different kid. It last 4-5 weeks depending on the weather. We are living in England this year, and this is the first year that it hasn't happened. I'm not sure if it's because he's older or there are just different allergens here. It's a thought. --Dawn
Guest guest
I'm conin in late on this but, I agree with the allergy thought -high histamine is supposed to be connected with increased aggression, irritability and regression. He doesn't have an ear infection, cavity or other tooth pain, molars coming in?good luck, Alison M --------- Re: [ ] REGRESSION - HELP!! > > > > Date: Tuesday, September 23, 2008, 10:35 PM > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: donnasimon50 > > > > Hi All, > > We have completed 43 rounds of chelation per AC protocol with some > nice > > steady gains up until 2 weeks ago where my son seems to have > regressed. > > I was prepared for the stall/regression period but not at all > prepared > > for this type of regression. First, consider yeast overgrowth and/or mineral depletion. > I was prepared for the stall/regression period but not at all prepared > for this type of regression. Have you tried reducing or eliminating the yeast fighters? At about round 50 is when I had to remove all yeast fighters except biotin. > we are in the middle of redecorating our home eg painting (non toxic > paint)and changing carpet. Guest guest
After a chemical regression from pesticides during the six month of chelation after seeing steady gains, our son regressed to worse than before we started. My son got better we believe from cod liver oil and phosphydytlcholine. Chemicals (carpets, paints, remodeling, pesticides) have been proven to block certain pathways in the brain and high dose CLO (7,500 IU per day of vit A, but we only used 2,500 IU of vit A per day) combined with just a small amount of cholines from lethicin or a supplement that contains a little bit of cholines, unblock the clog in the brain, basically. That combination of supplements totally cured our sons OCD and he hasn't had it since. Also his social abilities and eye contact went through the roof and have been great since. The vitamin A/Choline connection was written about by Dr. Megson. I think I wrote about it with links to the research, you could search onibasu for posts about it under Bestbirths probably. I would up the yeast and bacteria fighters, have you been rotating them? We used candex, custom probiotics, oreganol, rotated uva ursi, mct oil, gse, rotating every 2 months. Activated charcoal to soak up the die off. Cut out sugar for a while. Weird symptoms or regressions during chelation was a lot of times caused by yeast for us. Chlorophyl is what finally helped get our son's bacterial smell to go away. We occasionally took a few weeks off to ramp up on vitamins, because sometimes I felt he did get depleted of minerals. A small break to regroup can't hurt at all, we took breaks to get yeast under control and replentish vitamins regularly when chelating our son. You can do both (replentish minerals and get yeast under control) at the same time while you take a break. Typically our breaks lasted two to three weeks.
