Guest guest
This is what is happening: When my dd gets hungry she flips out and gets mean. When she was on the Diflucan this pretty much stopped. Now on the Biotin and Custom Probiotics, I see this reaction happening again. She is doing well on the Biotin and Custom Probiotics except for this really. So it seems that the more yeast I kill, the better her highs and lows when she gets hungry (perhaps sugar drops). I am not sure why this is happening and why yeast does this. I was thinking she needs a bit more Biotin, or another yeast fighter to even this out. Please give me your opinion. This is what she is taking: 10AM 1/2- CAPSULE " CUSTOM PROBIOTIC " 15-MG. BIOTIN 2- DROP LITHIUM 1-SHARK LIVER OIL 1PM 15-MG. BIOTIN 2 DROP LITHIUM 4PM 15- MG. BIOTIN 2 -DROP LITHIUM 7PM 1/2 Chlonodine I am trying to get the yeast under control before I add individual vitamins, adrenal cortex etc.... Guest guest
Has she ever had a blood sugar test? I notice changes in my oldest daughter when she is hungry. It used to be so bad she would get physically ill. Definitely was related to blood sugar highs and lows. We never bothered doing anything medically for it, just made to the beast didn't get hungry - ya know? It could be that this is just now showing because there were so many other things covering it before. I find the more we deal with, the more we uncover and get to deal with. As some symptoms go away, new ones appear. Like our daughter who had headaches from her issues, including mitochondrial, when we got rid of a bunch of issues, different headaches appeared. By the time we weeded through the more serious stuff, we were down to random headaches caused by poor eyesight we didn't know she had. P. Guest guest
Wow . Your a great detective. I can't believe that about her eyesight. I had my dd sugar tested and like every other test... it comes back fine. All the doctors just sratch their heads! But its wierd that I don't have these fluctuations when she is on Diflucan and the yeast is under control, you know? I wonder if some good fats might help. I have a bottle of flaxseed oil and some Nordic omega 3's that I plan on trying sometime down the road. I am sticking with what I am doing for 4 days and not changing anything for now. Guest guest
I know....but I wonder why when her yeast is really under control with Diflucan does she not get these hypoglycemic episodes???? She is on Bioitin now, and Custom Probiotics and doing quite well, but the hypoglycemia is not as good as it was when on the Diflucan. I am just curious if the hypoglycemia isn't yeast related somehow. She is on Bioitin now, and Custom Probiotics and doing quite well, but the hypoglycemia is not as good as it was when on the Diflucan. ===>Perhaps the biotin/cp doesn't control the yeast as well as the Diflucan. I am just curious if the hypoglycemia isn't yeast related somehow. ===>Again, I think it *is* related, just not sure how. Biotin, which is helpful for yeast, is also involved in blood sugar regulation. Guest guest
>I am just curious if the hypoglycemia isn't yeast related somehow. Now we're getting somewhere! I posted about " reactive " hypoglycemia, and it sounds lke that's what your daughter has. Fasting blood sugar is fine, but I bet she would flunk a 3-hour glucose test. From what I've researched and what doctors have told me, reactive hypoglycemia occurs after you ingest carbs. Insulin works too well to bring down the blood sugar to the point the blood sugar drops below normal levels causing hypoglycemia. I have reactive hypo as well, and I have to combine carbs w/ protein and/or fat and eat low-glycemic carbs (there are excellent books on glycemic index that you might want to check out, " Atkins for Life " book is really good). So I've been de-yeasting by taking GSE, probiotics, and eating less carbs (trying anyway). I did notice that I don't get hyper and jittery after consuming high carbs anymore, instead, I get a little sleepy like those with diabetes with high blood sugar do. I don't let myself get too hungry to the point of hypo, so I can't tell you if I still get these symptoms, and I don't want to try! It's not pretty as you can imagine! Since carbs feed yeast, maybe the carbs stay inside the yeast cells, so the insulin has to work overtime to reduce the blood sugar level???? I have an appt with a nutritionist at my chiropractor's office tomorrow, so I'm going to ask. I'm also on candidasis group, so I'll dig around the archives. Guest guest
She never had a fasting glucose test, so I am not sure, but this reactions happens when she gets the slightest bit hungry. Even if she ate meat and beans right before and no carbs. Even if she ate meat and beans right before and no carbs. ===>Try more meat, less beans. Beans, other than green beans, do have protein but they are also high carb, some kids just cannot do the carbs, try lower carb vegs and fruits, like cantaloupe, peaches, green beans, etc, with her protein. And somehow the whole wheat bread helped, complex carbohydrates did not affect her. It was easier for us as we did dairy so we could feed, meat, cheese, milk and a low carb. She may need a higher protein to carb ratio. And it's hard if you don't do dairy as small kids do not eat or like to eat that much meat. It will get better, we no longer have to do this and she doesn't get emotional if she doesn't eat frequently. Guest guest
> > This is what is happening: > When my dd gets hungry she flips out and gets mean. In addition to giving more protein, try giving chromium. It helps regulate blood sugar. When yeast " gets hungry " , it will tend to cause problems, so it might be that also. Guest guest
I spoke with my nutritionist at my chiro's office, and she said yes, yeast can cause blood sugar problems. Yeast needs food to survive. So it makes sense that if you have little or no immediate sugar in your body it will pull it from wherever it can. I also asked her about how I used to get hyper and jittery after consuming high sugar/carb foods, and now that i'm de-yeasting I feel sleepy instead, and she said the sleepy response is more normal. So I know for sure that my anti-yeast supplements are working!
