I would have started chelation much earlier--and still pounded my child with

as much 1:1 therapy at the same time as I could afford (speech, o/t, AIT,

etc.)

We started GFCF diet at 2yo and ABA at 3yo.  My son is now a 7yo and

doing really well.  He is mainstreamed without an aid in 1st grade.  Is only

pulled out of the classroom for speech.  Most people don't even know he has a

diagnosis.  My only regret is that we didn't start biomedical sooner.  We just

started chelating about 6 month ago.  We are seing amazing results.  We went

through many years of tantrums and bad behaviors because of yeast.  I now feel

his life and ours would have been much easier if we had treated the yeast

sooner.  I feel he would even be further along had we chelated earlier.

Good Luck and I hope this helps.  God Bless.

Hi. My name is Meg and I have a 13 month old son that I believe is on

and there are so many days that I don't know where to go, what to do,

Hi Meg, this is what I wish I had done; I wish I had...chelated low frequent

dose ala Cutler starting at 21 months when my son was dx, done food sensitivity

test- to avoid those foods, put him on scd, if still nursing-myself as

well, put him on probiotics, digestive enzymes, a good multi without copper or

iron, beguan to treat yeast 1st with prescription antifungals then with naturals

for long term, epsom salt baths, changed all the products in our house to

healthier versions, done OAT test for parasites and yeast, done french

porphyrins test at labbio.net for metals and oxidative stress, never let him

have nitrous oxide, stopped vaccinating immediately and no flu shots ever, read

the lable of everything that went in him and on him, begun working with good

speech, OT and floortime folks, be in a good playgroup, begun working with a DAn

to look at what needs supplementing.Primary mistake I made; I started with

behaviorial interventions and didn't realize how sick my kid was medically until

we were one full year into tx and he was 3.Heal the baby first, get loads of

support for yourself, look at what goes into your body, supplement your body and

nurse like crazy. your beautiful baby will be fine-if it is there you caught it

well in time.My best to you, Alison M

Meg,

If I could start over again, first, I would never vaccinate, and

second, I would have started with Homeopathy Center of Houston to

detoxify the body and try to undo the damage done by vaccines. This is

a hellish road, but you are onto this early and the earlier the better.

Good luck,

I go through this in my head quite a bit!

First I would stop vaccinating. Then I would do the GFCF diet. Then I

would chelate with Andy's protocol. On top of that I would add all of

the supps for the AC chelation. I wouldn't have worried so much about

healing the gut before chelation, I would have just started a very low

dose at a very early age.

Also, enzymes for digestion and antivirals and antibacterials after a

year or so of chelation.

Good luck. The good thing is you know early and can start asap.

Totally agree too on the Epsom salt baths. It was the first thing we did and

worked wonders for calming and sleep.

First I would stop vaccinating. Completely.

Then I would get Andy's books - both of them.

Run a hair test from directlabs.com - the hair elements test and decipher

them using andy's books

I might even run a porphryn's test from labbio.net so you have a baseline of

where you started

Then I would start adding the supplements necessary for chelation

And then I would start chelating on the AC protocol - low and frequent

dosing.

Since he is 13 months old, you have a little bit of time before you can get

going with Early Intervention, but once he passes the age that they will do

an evaluation - do that asap and get services started.

I wish I hadn't waited to get the ball rolling on this. Time is of the

essence here.

And spend as much 1 on 1 time as you can with him - and have others do the

same. Look up the floortime approach and apply the skills to your play

skills with your child. Be playfully obstructive to provoke a response,

even if it is just a look.

Hope this helps,

Find a homeopathic/naturopathic practioner who uses as Asyria machine to

diagnose and cold lasers for detoxing.  The laser work speeds up the recovery

process.  An Asyria machine will pick up every ailment and toxic hit to the

system since almost conception.

It is not a blood test or invasive in any way.  I believe one of the masters of

using this machine to be Dr. Cowden in Phoenix.

I would have started Cutler protocol at least a year earlier, however in

reality I did not know enough at that time to make that decision, and I

probably would have chosen a damaging chelation protocol that our doctor

at the time was trying to push.

Maybe you should get a diagnosis first? What things suggest that your son is on

the spectrum? I do think that a lot of the suggestions others had about a

healthy diet, healthy environment (i.e. eliminating toxins) and testing for

parasites/heavy metals, etc would be a good start, especially if you just know

in your gut that something isn't right.

I joined this list because my son has delayed speech and we took him to see a

speech pathologist. However, I considered chelating my son originally because

Andy writes in Amalgam illness that chelating can help with developmental/speech

delays (as well as Attention Deficit, etc). I am also planning on being on

Andy's protocol as soon as I stop nursing my son (hopefully by the time he is

2.5ish, so about a year from now) due to my own health problems (plus I still

have one amalgam filling in my mouth that I have to remove after we finish

nursing too).  I am not chelating my son (at least not yet) but I have started

supplementing him with some of the recommended supplements in the file list here

and he is already showing a huge improvement. Vitamin B12 is especially

important. I'm not giving him any anti-fungals or anti-parasitic things though

because he is a very healthy boy. I'm giving him Multivitamins and minerals,

including a lot more seaweed in our

diet to make sure he is not mineral deficient, I started giving him cod liver

oil every day and magnesium supplements and he is already doing so well.

I also started incorporating some exercises the speech pathologist suggested

when we play and already he has learned a couple of new words in just 2 weeks so

I am thinking that chelation won't be necessary.

But I do think it is important to get professional guidance at least at the

start so you know for sure you are dealing with autism and not something else.

For example, I worried my son could be on the spectrum too but there are so many

other reasons for speech delays so when I started to research it I realized that

he was not showing any other signs and the speech pathologist and our family

doctor doesn't think there is any chance of autism either so for that I am

grateful.

Good luck to you!

Meg,

It's greaat that you have found this list so early on in your son's

life. Whether he is ASD or not, the info here will surely be helpful.

If I were to start again, there would be NO vaccines, no tylenol, no

advil, and certainly no other meds unless my child's life depended on it.

I would buy Andy's books and also run the tests that he suggests. He

has a very reasonable list of tests that he finds useful (compared to

other doctors where the testing seems endless) and his tests won't

cost a fortune. The hair test is important and possibly some blood

tests too. (In my child's case, I would certainly have run a

thyroid/cortisol test much earlier since this seems to have been an

issue for years before I saw it.) Make sure you read the archives for

what is necessary so that you only have to get blood from your baby once.

I also probably would have consulted with Andy first instead of going

the DAN route.

If you post more about your baby, his symptoms etc. you might get more

specific input.

meg, im pretty new to this also. at 18 months we were told he has the signs of

asd but until 3 years he want get the dx. he is 24 months and we have had some

progress. we are about to start with homeopathy center in Houston. but i would

say research all options, first. i know your mind is racing and your brain is

about to info overload already, (or mine was anyway), but just read about

biomedical and different dans protocols, homeopathy also. good luck and ill keep

everyone posted about homeopathy if it work or not.

and monique is right about the testing the fewer the better and choice someone

that knows which one to do.

The only things I would add would be to get a great DAN doctor. For my son,

the B vitamins (6 and MB12 shots) , our great DAN doctor, HBOT and a TON of

therapy are the keys that just got my son " declassified " off the spectrum 3

weeks ago.

We've had three different companies doing blood work for food allergies and skin

testing. They've all shown pretty much the same thing for major food allergies

for us, not doubt peanut, soy, wheat. But we've had bananas, eggs,

strawberries, apples come back negative and positive depending on the test. So

the only way is by testing those foods. For us, what we thought was an asthma

attack and cold, now we are talking about a 1 year old until maybe 3, finally we

figured out was issues with foods. Often those symptoms can be 24 hours later.

So a food diary or at least remembering what the offensive food you may have

given might have triggered the issue. Also poor behavior, melt downs, not

sleeping. It is so hard. Thankfully, we had so many allergies that we pulled

out everything and didn't try anything for years. Now at age 6, now and again

we might try something, like once a month. Tonight it was butter because I

forgot his " save " butter at home. He's fine so far. But if tomorrow, if

sneezing, runny nose, we'll see. At least we don't see the " asthma " type issues

much any more. Colds we still have to watch out for that might trip him into

needing some flovent, asthma issues.

So.....no test is going to be 100%, that's been my experience for sure.

Oh, apples, we eat now and again and no issues. But if he eats one every day,

apple season, he " gets a cold " . So just knowing your daughter well enough.

Each person is different.
