Guest guest
Weren't we all commenting that Don Imus should not be fired when he opened his yapper inapropriately? I think Mike Savage is a dick, but I don't think he deserves to lose his job. I'd love to see sponsors pull out, though. And I really get peeved when people think I was offended because the media told me to get upset. I listen to him on my way home from my office each day in the car and I really always liked him, but I was offended immediately by his comments. And it further makes me angry when someone who isn't involved in anyway with Autism, just makes money from it, tells me that I shouldn't be offended or that I'm only offended because I didn't hear it personally, or am just a leming following what the media tells me to do. Guest guest
My comment wasn't directed personally to you, , but more to the group. I remember a lot of talk about how Don Imus was getting a raw deal, that he was a good man who sometimes spoke without thinking, that we needed to rally around him, etc. Now, some of those same people are likely asking for Savage to lose his job. Even I find myself trying to rationalize. When the words are directed to your life, it is much more offensive than trying to imagine what it would feel like (I am white, so what Imus said was offensive but not personal). I wouldn't lose sleep if Mike Savage was out of work. Sorry about the misleading message!
