I read your post and can totally relate. Our son is 3, PDD-nos, doing

great on his supplements etc. We agonized too about chelation.

Finally, we started this weekend with DMSA chelation per the Cutler

protocol, DMSA 1/8 mg per lb of body weight, every four hours.

So far so good, my son takes the smelly chelator without too much

fuss, even in the night. So far hard to tell what it is doing, too

early, although he seems a bit more " present " and affectionate

perhaps. Wish we would have started it sooner. We told our DAN, no

challenge, the hair test and the porphyrin tests will have to do as a

basis to chelate on. I thank God for the day my friend sent me to

this group and told me to buy Andy's books.

My husband and I came to the conclusion that unless we what to keep

giving our child a myriad of supplements, and keep him on a restricted

diet and antifungals for the rest of his life, we had to take the

plunge and start to get the metals out. The Cutler protocol is the

safest thing around, so fear not! Cutler and DAN! diverge on the

chelation protocol. We take what we need from DAN as far as

supplementation goes, but when it came to chelation, we told our DAN

its low dose, frequent protocol, or our son is no longer his patient.

He said he saw " no harm in such a conservative approach. " So here we are.

This is my two cents, for what it's worth. Irene
