Guest guest
Greetings to all I'm thrilled to say I feel 100 times better after only one week on 1.5 mls of LDN. My previously erratic spiking blood pressure has been normal and stable all week (118/70), my muscle tenseness & pain has gone and for the past 4 days I've been able to tolerate low impact exercise without feeling like I'm 107 years old or may have to sleep for two hours after. Gone are the evening dizzy spells I've been having for over a year - and only two small hives have dared to make a quick appearance. I did have a headache onset an hour after taking LDN on the first two days - and some nausea at the same time - especially on day two - but this was transient. Since I'm hypo and sensitive to meds I decided to start taking my LDN dose during early afternoon on day one and delay by 3 hours each following day until I got to the 10 pm dosing. I haven't had any weird dreams and have slept fairly well - although I do wake up several times during the night...I fall back asleep quickly. I am taking 3 mg melatonin at bedtime - in the past ten years I have had many issues with not sleeping. I reduced my thyroid meds by about one third a few weeks before starting LDN, knowing my thyroid function could rebound and push me into the hyper zone. So far so good - and I plan to retest my levels in a week or so. My thyroid levels were tested about a month prior; TSH 1.69 (range .35-5), FT4 13 (range 9-23), FT3 3.8 (range 3.5-6.5). I'll keep my background brief for now. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism ten years ago and have had a difficult time with medication, symptoms and reaching appropriate blood levels to feel well. Despite being vigilant with taking meds, my thyroid levels are all over the map, making dosing hard to figure out and equally all over the map. Three years ago I was finally diagnosed with Hashimoto's which probably explains some of the problem (anti-tpo is still normal but anti-tg is 1718 (range 0-40) and my ANA test was positive. My TSH while medicated is low (at times suppressed) but my FT4 & FT3 are barely in range - typically for the past ten years a test result TSH of .3 (range .35-5) would also show a FT4 of 10 (range 9-23) and a FT3 of 3.8 (range 3.5-6.5). (Note to thyroid people: last year I substituted 25 mg of Synthroid into my usual 75 mg dose of dessicated thyroid med and my t4 levels improved but my t3 did not). The lower my TSH the more my various symptoms would ramp up (chronic hives, IBS, muscle pain, brain fog etc.). It was a vicious cycle...and I suspected much of the problem with symptoms was related to autoimmune issues. I tried 4 doctors looking for support on trying LDN with no luck. I finally ordered from River Pharmacy in early December, had to get the med sent to a friend in England (River can't deliver to a Canadian address) and she then sent it on to me (heck, I live in Canada). I am keeping a daily journal and hope to participate more on the list - as I gain more experience with LDN. Much thanks and appreciation to all the regular list posters out there! Your work and support is valued. Thanks again! MM2
