thanx much for your reply and questions.

at this point, I am confused about the "right" dose since people have been doing well on 3...or 4.5 at the very least.

I do try to exercise; am a veggie tarian except went back on white meat chix for better protein... I went off eating any... of God's creations who ever breathed. Turkeys are like pets all over our hills; deer mommies and babies are friend...and pork is yuk plus wee piggies cuddle in your arms.

Anyone who saw my friend in Notting Hill, caught the scene about the gal Hugh Grant considered???? she was a "fruitarion" nothing eaten unless it dropped from the tree...b/c they they are alive...so, the carrots served in the movie, were, she said:"Murdered" :-)

So glad to read your posts.

[low dose naltrexone] Taking more than 4.5 mgs LDN possibly risks disease progression

Dr. Bihari only put a very minute amount of people with MS on 6mg and of those he put on 6mg, his intentions were NOT to leave them at that dose but to eventually reduce the dose back down. When he had his fall and went into rehab, he had forgotten he had left someone on 6mg and her MS started to worsen from being on 6mg too long, it was blocking endorphins too long.Taking 6mg for symptom improvement may be detrimental to your health further down the road. Take 6mg at your own risk but when something bad happens 2 to 3 years from now do not blame LDN.Those of you who are using 6mg, have you done anything to compliment the LDN like improve your diet, stop smoking, eliminate gluten, dairy and sugar from your diet, done liver, parasite and candida yeast detoxes, use supplements that help reduce viral load and help fight candida yeast, get pool therapy, massage, acupuncture, reflexology, etc?LDN is a bandaid, it can only do so much, you have to be willing to step up to the plate and do your part to compliment LDN.Remember, LDN's main purpose is to halt MS disease progression, NOT improve symptoms, if you get symptom improvement on LDN then you were one of the lucky two-thirds that might get symptom improvement.Taking too much LDN can cause disease progression/worsening.http://tinyurl.com/6r9th2Art------ In low dose naltrexone , "Terl " <terl1@...> wrote:>> Hi,> > Some 18 months ago I started on L.D.N for my primary progressive M.S. at 3 mg a day, taken when I went to bed.> > The first week was bad, (English understatement there it was F***** he**). What is the best dosage of LDN to begin treatment with?

For an adult who is not significantly below the normal weight range,

the optimal dose of LDN is 4.5mg, taken each night between 9pm and

3am. One can begin at this dose level. If one were to develop

persistent sleep disturbance (i.e., a sleep disturbance lasting

longer than 10 to 14 days) after starting LDN, which occurs in less

than 2% of users, then the dose may be decreased to 3mg or 2mg.

People who have multiple sclerosis that has led to muscle spasms are

advised to begin treatment with just 3mg daily and to maintain that

dosage.

If I have to work on a night shift, for example from midnight to

8a.m., at what time should I take my LDN?

Continue to take LDN as recommended above; i.e., between 9pm and 3am.

This relates to the fact that the endorphins for each day are always

produced in the pre-dawn hours, regardless of the hours when one is

awake or sleeping.

Dr. Bihari recommended Solaray brand DLPA. They come in 500 mg

capsules to be taken twice a day on an empty stomach. Suggested times

would be 10am and 3pm.
