Guest guest
I am new to this process of asking questions but have been monitoring the emails back and forth for a while in prep for taking the LDN myself. I have am been taking it, finally, for about 2 weeks. My questions comes now from talking to other people and them asking me about a few other people that have been sent home with hospice to basically die after Dr.'s have given up on them, cancer related. One has end stage liver cancer and the esophageal cancer that refused to go thru chemo again because they got so sick the first time around years ago. Both of them are on narcotics (I can find out what specifically if needed). Is having them try the LDN worth doing as long as they are taking the narcotic? I have read you shouldn't be taking narcotics. Any advice would be appreciated...Thanks
Guest guest
LDN will cancel out the pain-killing effects of the narcotics. If the person has been a long time user of narcotics they should be narcotic free for at least 14 days before trying LDN. From Dr. Lawrence: In addition, because LDN will also block the analgesic effects of any opiate drugs (includes codeine, dihydrocodeine, morphine, pethidine or diamorphine) presently being taken, the use of LDN will initially greatly increase the level of pain experienced. It is therefore advisable that any opiate-like drugs be discontinued at least two weeks before this treatment is initiated. When starting the treatment it is essential that any untoward or adverse side-effects are reported immediately so that the treatment process can be further assessed and, if necessary, modified. Guest guest
, Unfortunately using LDN and narcotic painkillers together will at best result in each partly or wholly cancelling the effect of the other and at worst make them feel even worse than they do now as well as having to cope with increased pain. The impression I get from reading everything posted on here is that they unfortunately need to be off the narcotics for at least a fortnight before starting LDN and at this stage there may be no non-narcotic painkiller strong enough to do much for the pain. wrote: > > I am new to this process of asking questions but have been monitoring > the emails back and forth for a while in prep for taking the LDN > myself. Guest guest
Thanks for the advice. I have been trying to get them to watch Dr. Berkson's video clip on youtube, as I thought it was pretty powerful what he's been able to accomplish with people that really had nothing to lose. Unfortunately, the norm for sending someone home that they have given up on is to drug them up so they really no longer care what is going on, whether they need it or not. I am taking this for Autoimmune Hepititis. I also have been battling Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia since 1985. I was fortunate enough to live close enough to get my GI, after he wouldn't have anything to do with the LDN, to refer me to Dr. Jill at Hershey Medical Center and she is who prescribed the LDN for me. I hope it works. I need to get off the 30-60mg a day of prednisone I have been on for the last 10 months.
