However, 6mg is not recommended for anything apart from very short

term use (if any) as it can block the endorphins for too long and

actually have a detrimental rather than positive effect.

I use 4.5 mg (capsule) of LDN to treat Crohn's / Colitis. I am

experiencing the on-set of a flare and will be increasing my dosage

to 6 mgs (temporarily). I wonder though...if people suffering from

bowel disease would benefit from experimenting with their dosage.

For example, if I feel noticeably better after taking 6 mgs than 4.5

mgs, might it be possible that 6 mgs would provide me with " optimal "

benefit of LDN? (Considering that we all respond differently to

meds, etc.)

Should I pose this question to Dr. Jill or one of the

other " LDN Advocates? "

Thanks so much!

Hi Patti,

I am certainly no expert but from my reading of the posts in this group

for over 5 years it would seem that trying to cope with a flare is the

only reason for temporarily increasing dosage. The evidence suggests

that 6mg longer term is counterproductive.
