Guest guest
Aspartame can cause damage in a number of ways. One is that aspartate (an ingredient) is an excitotoxin. MSG and glutamates in general are also excitotoxins. They can cause overfiring at nerve synapses and nerve cell death can result. My understanding (limited as it is) is that too much excitotoxicity can cause a shift towards autoimmunity and mitochondrial issues--or maybe the mitochondrial issues come first. Does anyone know if this is part of how LDN works? Does it block some of this excitoxin action? Dr. Vojdani presented some interesting theories on LDN mechanism of actions at the conference, and it seemed to fit well with what I've read on excitotoxicity, but it's just a little beyond my grasp. Can anyone explain it to me? I'll bet that's one reason the non processed food diet is so beneficial. It's hard to find any processed food without MSG. Even natural flavor is frequently MSG in disguise! Betty > > How many of you drink diet drinks daily? With aspartame? How many of > you use nutrasweet???
