Guest guest
A friend of mine from Houston is being treated by someone he recommends very highly. Apparently the guy is well-published and has a great deal of expertise. I'll get the name and contact info for you, but it may take a few days. Brad > > New to the group with my first post here. Guest guest
Hi, It has been several years since I spent the winter in Houston and had to travel over to see Dr. Lovell in Baton Rogue to get a new set of pellets installed subcutaneously. Cost is about the same but it is trouble free till the need for the next set of pellets in 4 months typically. There is no easy way to find a good endocrinologist but Dr. Lovell was trained by Dr. Greenblatt. Check his credentials on the internet. You need to reach a level between 800 and 1000 to have the benefits mentioned in the books by Dr. Eugene Shippen for instance. You will get an instant boost in erection capability as your testosterone ramps up to the higher level but when it stabilizes at the higher level that party is over. If you had ED before it will creep back in agian. At 61 I thought the TRT would fix everything but no. I had to go on trimix therapy (before viagra and such then). Both still work great at 74. ernestnolan > > New to the group with my first post here. Guest guest
Okay, I have it. Try: D. MD Texas Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Endocrinology 7400 Fannin Suite 850 Houston, TX 77054 713-791-1874 There is a web site: http://www.hormoneproblems.com/ There is a blurb about Doc http://www.hormoneproblems.com/KS_bio.htm My friend took the opportunity to once again lavish praise on Dr. knowledge and he is apparently pleasant to deal with. Hopefully you'll feel the same. Good luck. Brad > > > > New to the group with my first post here. Guest guest
Brad, I really appreciate your help here. I will definitely give Dr. a call. I hope I can return the favor to you or someone on this board in the future. Tyler > > > > > > New to the group with my first post here. Guest guest
I'm in Dallas and I'm sorry I don't have any contacts in Houston. You are embarking on a long journey to find a good doc. Many of us here have gone through MANY docs and still haven't found a good one. Hang in there though, there is hope. The biggest thing I've gotten from this group is correct information that I use to verify a doctors knowledge. If he or she misses the loaded questions I ask then I move on to another. I've had docs that had no clue about HRT and some that know just enough to make them dangerous. First and foremost, find one that will listen! Guest guest
Before you look for a Dr. go to Dr. 's site www.allthingsmale.com and read TRT : A Recipe for Success and his HCG update. This way you will know what a good Dr. does and you will know what to ask when you call to screen one. Phil lordtyler1 <tedgington@...> wrote: New to the group with my first post here. I'm 34 with low T (150- 200 before TRT) and after almost 2 months on Testim my T levels are up to a whopping 260. The nurse left a message on the machine saying my levels were " normal " (normal levels being 240 - 800). Well obviously I called them back and told them that I my libido (and ED) wasn't where I wanted it to be. Like many other posts I've seen, I saw improvement the first couple of weeks of taking Testim but the results faded quickly. What bothers me is that my current doc has never tested anything but total T, LH and prolactin. Never any tests of free T, E2 or any of the other tests that seem to be needed to properly diagnose the problem. I did have an MRI of my pituitary gland which set me back $600 despite good insurance. In the end, my diagnosis came back as " idiopathic " as well and I was put on Testim with limited results as I mentioned earlier. Does anyone know of any doctors in the Houston area who are competent at treating hypogonadism? We have a huge medical community here so there must be a doc out there that " gets " it. Thanks and God Bless.
