Guest guest
The reason why Andractim is not available to us here in the US has always been an enigma to me. This product is esentially androstanalone, and Andractim has been approved by the French, German, and British equivalents of our FDA for the treatment of Low Testosterone for quite a few years. The main company producing Andractim or Gelovit is based in France. If this medication is good enough for those three modern countries, then why is it not good enough or safe enough for us Americans. This is more of the FDA's insanity and their taking away from the American people legitimate treatment alternatives due to the big business $$$. Andractim is great. If i could get it all the time, it would be my favorite topical HRT. No aromatization. It immediately starts to elilminate fat deposits that come about due to high levels of E, and it does rev up the libido and helps with ED. One down side of Andractim/ DHT is that it has a shorter half life than does plain T once in the body. While DHT is not nearly as anabolic as plain T, it is much more androgenic. Due to this fact, Andractim or DHT will bring about the development of secondary sexual characteristics much quicker than does T. It is also used to prevent and to correct minor cases of gynocomastia. Andractim comes in 80gm tubes, and it is a 2.5% concentration. For comparision, Androgel is a 1% concentration. Each tube of Andractim or Gelovit comes with a plastic doseing device. This device has a two indented sections that run length wise on the plastic stick. The user then squezes the andractim into the intended section or sections to obtain the proper dose. It is very simple, and due to the fact that packaging is kept to a minimum, it should be considerably cheaper than androgel. Also, i was not able to find any sort of trademark or patented gel delivery system with regard to andractim, so that will make it cheaper to make and to sell underliciense. Most US doctors have bought into the " DHT scare " . That being DHT will make you bald and have prostate problems. So they put such patients on DHT blockers, and next thing you know you have men with ED, and what do you know--they have another drug just for you (viagra, cilais ect) that you likely would not have needed had you not started taking the BPH medication. And the real clincher is that most doctors use the DHT blockers without taking a single blood test to see if the patient has high E or has excess DHT. However, as I and other posters have mentioned, there is considerable research coming out from the European medical community that shows that high levels of E2 are actually to blame for a great deal of the BPH and prostitis. Here is an interesting factoid about the FDA and members of Congress and the Senate. Many members from both of these legislative bodies are privy to all the big anticipated ground breaking drug releases before these products hit the market. Due to some " interesting loop holes " your congressman or senator can then use this unreleased drug knowlege to buy up all the stock he or she can afford to with this insider trading knowlege prior to the release of said drug, and then make outrageous profits. For you and I as well as Martha , this would be called insider trading and we would be open to criminal charges. However, your legislator is immune from any charges. We have to stop this. The Senators, Congressmen, and Cabinet officials who are privy to all the FDA and major drug companies inside info, should not be able to buy stocks relative to the future drug products they know about. In short, if Andractim is good enough for the Germans, the British, the French, and the Japanese, it is good enough for us Americans. To show how " ipotent " and incompetent the FDA is, take a look at all the SSRI antidepressants. The sexual side effects from these drugs far and away exceeds the rates of occurance reported to the FDA. The FDA never questioned these findings. However, hey now you are more depressed due to ED and arrousal problems so the SSRI is a wash, and now you end up taking viagra and wellbutrin to counter what the SSRI has done. Once again this appears to be more of a business decision rather than a medical treatment efficacy decision. SB
