Testim and chest congestion, etc.

Hello,

I have been taking Testim gel since the beginning of the year. I took

Androgel before that and had a poor response to it. With both these

gels, I absorb them too quickly, my blood levels spike, then crash to

the bottom... all this within a few hours. Testim is somewhat better

in this regard but still not very good.

Because of this I take 5g 2X/day (10g total or 2 tubes). It works for

sore muscles and joints but gives me signs of too much. One of these

is chest congestion. I get it religiously from 10g of Testim and it

goes away if I go off. This has been going on since I started the 10g

months ago. Anyone else get chest congestion from TRT?

I got a cold 4 weeks ago and it just won't go away. After 3 weeks I

went to the doctor and she put one of those monitors on my finger

that

tell them your lung efficiency. My number was low... 92.... should be

98-100. I explained that the Testim gives me chest congestion and

maybe that would account for the low number. I was given antibiotics

for the sinus infection and a week later I still have the head cold.

I'm wondering if the chest congestion from the TRT is making my head

and sinus congestion hang around. Comments?

Also, my doctor is open to trying me out on shots. What are the

common

side-effects of shots? I have one of those bodies that seems to fight

outside influences and I get a lot of side effects to meds. What is

the opinion here of injecting in the muscle vs. sub-q?

Finally, I used HCG in the past with good results but it came with an

unrelenting headache that took 10 weeks to go away! That was Novarel

and I tried it again months later and the headaches started to

come back then I quickly stopped. I'd like to try another brand but

have been unsuccessful finding one. Any suggestions other than

Novarel?

Interestingly, I don't think lack of T is the root of my problem. I

believe it to be adrenal. However, the TRT helps me maintain while

(I'm hoping) my adrenals repair themselves. It's been over 3 years

since I crashed.
