When Libido Kicks In...

Aloha Hank and all!

I don't know if this is possible, but this is just how my TRT

affected me:

My sexual functions were the FIRST thing I noticed returned. I

believe it's because after 9+ years of not having much of a libido,

I'd forgotten how I " normally " was. Both my wife and I have talked

about this quite a bit this week and we BOTH suddenly realized just

how 'sexual' the two of us were back then. So naturally, that would

be the first thing. I can proudly say that TRT has restored ALL my

sexual functions now and not only has it been a BLAST putting sex

back into our relationship, but it has made our good marriage so

much BETTER.

The second thing I noticed was the lessening of the intensity of all

of my aches and pains. The minor aches/pains had virtually

disappeared and my major chronic pains have been reduced

dramatically. So much so that I even forgot to take an entire DOSE

of my morphine last Tuesday! More on this later...

The third thing was a lessening of my depression. I no longer felt

that deep, dark hellish pit of depression at all! Of course I still

just had the 'normal' 'blues' that most people have that are average

though. I still have such a feeling of " well-being " that I've

successfully gone from taking 20mgs of Celexa (a SSRI antidepressant

which KILLS your sex drive and can damage you for life. See the

message board called " SSRISex " to find out just how bad SSRI's ARE

for your sex drive (libido) to taking only 5mgs and am still feeling

fine and I plan on quitting SSRI's completely in 12 more days!

I have more energy/stamina overall and in general. I used to have to

take Ritalin or Provigil to stay awake through the day due to the

strong pain meds and doses I take. But having been doing TRT for a

little over a month now, I have very little problem with that now. I

so not take ANY of those two meds anymore. This also goes hand-in-

hand with better concentration.

So overall, I seem to have reaped many of the positive benefits of

TRT and as far as I can tell, very little negative effects.

If I HAD to name a negative effect, it would have to be the " hills

and valley's " syndrome that men get because I receive one injection

every OTHER week of 200mgs T-depo-T. But it isn't all that bad,

however, I will be asking my doc if I may receive one injection per

week instead of 100mgs to avoid that.

Another negative that SOME MEN MAY call negative is very sensitive

nipples. Mine are constantly contracted just from the shirt I wear

and about the ONLY time they 'relax " is during sleep. I don't see

this as a negative because that area is one of my erogenous zones

and one of my wifes favorite " play-things " , so ... I have no

complaints. I am watching for what is called " gyno " , or " man tits "

as that is a nasty little side effect that could happen. (But hey,

what's so bad about having your own breasts to play with?

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Just kidding....sheesh!)

I should mention that any and all changes I've made in my meds are

with my doctors 'blessings'. I'd NEVER attempt to make any changes

without professional advice (although the advice in here sometimes

excels some doctors!)

So if you have just started TRT and are within the first month, you

have to remember that this is a hormone and not a medication. So the

effects are not as instantanious(sp?) as, say, an asprirn. TIME, is

on YOUR side with this. Our bodies have so many chemical

interactions I consider myself very lucky to have all of the above

effects so quickly and, so far, not much in the way of bad.

I hope this puts some of your concerns to rest. I was just as

anxious as everyone else seemed/seems to be when I first started the

TRT. For those who know me a bit better than Hank, I really am

indebted to y'all for the great advice and help you've given me so

far. This site is wonderful and seems to be virtually " one of a

kind " .

Aloha for now,

Wayne
