Guest guest
Soy protein isn't as good for muscle building as whey is but it is probably better than no protein at all. Maybe a protein mixture (casein, whey, soy) won't have the same effect as the whey by itself did. Most milk products have whey in them so if you don't experience this problem with anything but the whey protein it could be the brand you're using. Switch brands and see if there is any difference. It might not be the whey but something else in the mixture that is causing the problem. Hope this helps. P.S. Eating apples makes my face sweat. Guest guest
Dr. Crisler has told me to avoid soy for just that reason, flax as well. Jim From: jimevans_2000@... Date: Fri, 28 Sep 2007 12:32:09 +0000 Subject: Soy protein? I've been taking protein supplements for awhile now. I usually use soy protein. But I've read several articles about the isoflavones in soy leading to higher estrogen and interfering with thyroid (among other dangers). With my hypothyroidism and test injections, I'm beginning to question whether this type of protein is a good thing for me or not. Have you guys heard anything about soy protein leading to higher E? Or is it other soy products, like tofu? Thanks! Jim
Guest guest
I can’t say soy protein specifically, but I avoid soy anything as much as I can. Unfortunately, soy broth is found in Tuna, stuff like that. Flax is another item that should be avoided. I like whey protein from Now Foods or Optimum Nutrition. Guest guest
Yes stay away from SOY it's not good for men. It has a marker in it that is like Estradiol and when it fills the cells the brain thinks it is testosterone and stops sending the LH to the testis to make more testosterone. This is why it is good for women and they use it for hot flashs and such. http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do;jsessionid=6E215FA0784D5D9B11E8210FAA6E0AAD\ ..hydra?id=461709 jimevans_2000 <jimevans_2000@...> wrote: I've been taking protein supplements for awhile now. Guest guest
Holy macaroni, does flax really increase estrogen. I have a friend who docks in a feedlot, he keeps the beef pumped up with estrogen, to encourage the cattle to put on weight, the body needs fat to store estrogen, estrogen is very bioavailable when we eat something that contains it, in comparison to T. I developed hairy cell leukemia over a ten year span, it a slow developing and originated from agent orange exposure. But flax oil and cottage cheese is a remedy for cancer that many german docters recommend. I had never had cancer, but intuition told me I must have it, although not dxed at that point. So for ten years I ate flax and cottage cheese for breakfast. After being successfully treated, I found my hormones had reversed to be like that of a female. Makes me wonder if flax could have caused that. Thanks for the heads up. I will avoid it. Who would have imagined? Thanks Dr. Crisler and you guys for passing the info along. regards david Soy protein? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I've been taking protein supplements for awhile now.
