Switch from Androgel to Depo-Test

I received my first Depo-Test injection today after 5 less than

impressive years on Androgel. The nurse used a 22g 1 1/2 inch needle. I

asked about using a 27g needle and she said there is no way. She said

she had a hard time drawing it out of the vial with a 22g needle. They

gave me 1/2 cc of 200 ml Depo-Test (they only had 200 ml available). I

go back next week to do a supervised self injection. The 22 guage

needle actually didn't hurt very much but I would prefer using a

thinner needle. " "

Hi I have no problem drawing out my dose of Depo T into a 27g needle when

you stick the needle into the vile just pull the plunger all the way down and

hold it. Takes about a min. for the oil to come out. You will see why I use a

27g x 1/2 " lg. needle after you start sticking your self with that dam big

needle. Most guys use a 25 g x 1 " lg. needle to shoot into the thigh.

The oil is very thick 22s are standard, but they often draw the oil

with an 18 and then switch to the 22 to inject.

Dumb nurse.

Draw with 22, then change the needle to 27 and inject. That's how I

would do it and have in the past. Make sure your hands are clean and

that you don't waste any time. Sterile environment is key.

Making sure you get rid of air in the new needle after switching is

also important. Very easy stuff.

a 22g * 1.5 would draw up easy and it's long enough for a jab in the

butt... but I use a 25g * 1 myself for easy injection into the thigh...

it draws up a little slower but still draws up in a minute or so no

problem

Well I tried a 25 G one ich needle at the Doctors office today. It

was almost impossible to draw and to inject. I am going to get a 23g

one inch with my script. Perhaps I will get try a smaller gauge in

the future after I become proficient at injecting myself. They are

prescribing a 200MG 10cc vial and I will inject 1/2 cc weekly. That

equals 100mg right? After 2 weeks off of Androgel my total

Testosterone was 58 with a range of 350-720.My free testosterone was

1.4 with a range of 1.6 - 2.9. " "

I just did my first injection last Friday. It was with a 25G and it

did take a little bit of patience to get the syringe to fill up, it

was a fairly painless injection. I did have some minor pain in the

muscle the next couple of days but it was gone by Monday (yesterday).

I'm quite happy with the 25G at least after one week

I wonder if it has anything to do with the amount of air you inject

into the vial. Since I am only drawing 1/2 cc the nurse has me inject

1/2 cc into the vial. " "

I put the 27ga needle down the top of the Alcohol bottle & draw it full

of the sanitized air in the bottle. Then I shoot the air into the

Testosterone cyp vial. This prevents the vacuum from forming in the

vial. It makes it easier to draq out the thick " T " into the 27ga

needle. About 30 seconds.
