Guest guest
Hi Barbara and welcome. Yes doing a lot of beer will raise his Estradiol and keep his T levels down. To have a beer one bottle once in a wile is ok. Anyone with health problems on meds that drinks a lot is defeating the purpose of the meds. Guest guest
It can if one just started on it. It takes time to get levels up when starting on gels. After the first 2 weeks should get a blood test to be sure the gel is working. Adding Testosterone to the body that has been low for some time the body is going to react to it for some it is a good one and others not so good. So any alcohol is not good until one has become stable with his Total and Free T levels up in the upper 1/3 of the labs range. Alcohol can drive up Estradiol " E2 " when this is high it holds one down from feeling better on T meds and can kill his sex life. Here is a link from the links section at are home page. http://www.lef.org/protocols/prtcls-txt/t-prtcl-130.html Go to the links section and learn all you can about this. Guest guest
Hey Barbara. Cute username! Not everyone will " get it " though - enough said about that, eh? I've not used the gel, patch or pills for TRT. My doc, who is just my 'regular' doc and not a specialist of any particular kind is a real young guy and I think his side " hobby " is hormones and their workings as he seems to be surprisingly knowledgable about it (I had a Internal Medicine doc as a regular doc for years once and her " hobby " just happened to be about how all of our " glands " work and she INSTANTLY diagnosed me with PARAthyroidism BEFORE farming me out for the million tests needed to prove it and find which of the four pea sized glands was/were the culprit. " They " never did 'find' the ONE bad one until they actually slit my throat!!! Talk about going throught the wringer for nothing). He refused to give me patches or gel and gave me very logical reasons to do the IM injections. Who was I to argue? Since then, life has been almost TOO normal after nearly a decade of chronic pain and different medications. I can tell you for a fact that even a male who isn't on ANY medications that drinks too much and has sex can take forever to either, one: achieve an erection or two: take forever to have an orgasm or three (the worst): either one! But I think number two is the most common complaint amongst women (and being one yourself, I'm sure you know what I mean. I've been married for 27+ years and know what I mean! LOL! I used to be able to kill off a 12-pack on any given " football Sunday and Night " only to have mercy on my wife after a short time after her first ?complaint?. Since Androgel is a form of the hormone testosterone, of course taking other drugs (and alcohol IS a drug! Why people say, " Drugs and alcohol is beyond me!)will have an effect on emotions, mental clarity, moods and sexual functions. I could have just said " YES! " and left it at that, but then you may wonder how and why I would know. Aloha for now, Wayne > Does anyone know if the consumption of alcohol, mainly beer, has any > interaction or added effect on the body if you are taking Androgel? > > > > > > > > > > >
