I was losing my sex drive and was having problems getting hard. I was also getting alot of nose bleeds. My testosterone reading was mid 700's so that is going well. I take 50mg shots on Monday and Thursday. Since taking the Prometrium pill (100mg) starting Friday night I feel so much better. I have been taking one every night so far and the symptoms have already started to subside. THey use progesterone (Prometrium) to treat estrogen dominance in women. Some age managment and HRT docsare using progesterone to treat high estrogen levels in guys. It's a pretty controversial thing. Guest guest Posted February 28, 2006 Report Share Posted February 28, 2006 Since I am only 30 he did not want to put me on Arimidex because it could also kill my sperm he said as a side effect. He said if I had 2- 3 little ones running around already then he wouldn't care. He was also thinking of sending me to an endocrinologist to see what they thought. Anyway I feel SO much better since taking the prometrium, it's amazing. He told me that there weren't really any risks with taking progesterone. I just read that article it seems that the studies support that it battles E2 but that it puts your liver on overdrive. I personally take 100mg not the 200mg one they state in that article. I also do not need to take it everyday. I can also puncture a hole in the capsule if I want and rub it on my skin, that would take away the liver effect. I do not have the exact tests in front of me I just know my levels were at 150 I will go back and have them tested in 1 month. As far as the achiness it was the same for me as you are describing. But yes I am feeling great no more aches and not fatigued all the time. And like I said it seems to kick in fast so its not something I need to take continously. I can tell when I start feeling bad, then I just pop one in at bedtime. I can go sometimes a week at a time without taking it. The beneficial effects of natural progesterone have now been shown in women and men. Progesterone protects against many of the detrimental changes of aging, and the only downside is that too much can make a person feel sleepy or even euphoric. I stopped taking it for some reason, which was a mistake. As I was traveling alot and working out hard so just thought it was because of that.
