Guest guest
Thanks , That sounds pretty good to me, except for the diet part.... ;-). Pizza and any kind of bread is my downfall, too. Guest guest
Hi Bee, I was diagnosed with thyroid problems in Sept. 2008. However I think it started 15 years when the symptoms began - depression, fatigue, intolerance to cold, thinning hair, etc., I always worked a full time job, but I started feeling REALLY BAD in 2008 and could not function. ( At the beginning of last year I was put on Doxycycline 200mg for about 3 months (for Rosecea). Maybe that triggered my decline in health. I was on Armour 60mg for around 2 months, but 2 weeks ago my doctor switched me to Cytomel (t3 only med). Just starting out on the cytomel so I am only on 15mcg per day, will increase next week to get my free t3 up. Also, I am VERY low on all of the following: iron, cholesterol, testosterone, vitamin A, vitamin D and I am low on MANY amino acids. I recently started on HCL I only discovered I have Candida 2 weeks ago when I went to a new doctor. Do you think the Candida is causing all these problems and once I follow your program everything will balance out? I also have high cortisol and adrenal problems. I was put on many supplements to support the Adrenals and deal with my symptoms.. I read on your website that the only supplements I should take are the ones you specify, but I am afraid if I stop everything, my adrenals will not be supported. Here's what I'm taking: Phosphatylserine (PS) zinc Cortico b5b6 (3x per day)- each pill contains b6 100mg, b5 500mg,magnesium 75mg) Arginine with Magnesium Ribose (I stopped this because I think it has sugar) vitamin D Iron Omega theanine lysine 5htp melatonin sam-e I also take a multi-vitamin Please advise on the thyroid meds and also all these other supplements. Will they interfere with your program. I want to start out on the right track. I know this is alot of information, but I'd love to hear your thoughts so I can get the most benefits. Thanks so much!!!!!! Donna G +++Are you taking thyroid meds, since that will cause problems down > the road when your thyroid starts to normalize. There could have been many contributing factors that led to you decline in health, including the rosacea meds. It is obvious your immune system has been depressed for a very long time. > > I was on Armour 60mg for around 2 months, but 2 weeks ago my doctor switched me to Cytomel (t3 only med). Just starting out on the cytomel so I am only on 15mcg per day, will increase next week to get my free t3 up. +++Candida toxins, as well as other toxins, make the cell membranes rigid/stiff so the functioning of all organs is compromised. This also interferes with a person's ability to convert Armour to Free T3, so that's why your doctor switched to Cytomel. Most people do better taking some of each. > > Also, I am VERY low on all of the following: iron, cholesterol, testosterone, vitamin A, vitamin D and I am low on MANY amino acids. I recently started on HCL +++That's good you are taking HCl, which helps digestion and absorption of all nutrients including supplements and meds. > > I only discovered I have Candida 2 weeks ago when I went to a new doctor. Do you think the Candida is causing all these problems and once I follow your program everything will balance out? +++Yes, I believe candida is causing all of these problems, but even people who do not have candida improve their health on this program. That is because it is designed to build up the immune system, which is the only way to turn health around. That's why I set up my website and called it Healing Naturally by Bee, since I'd been running this group for a long time, and could see that people were having miraculous results - see these many Success Stories for the results of this program, including recovery of thyroid function: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/success/index.php > > I also have high cortisol and adrenal problems. I was put on many supplements to support the Adrenals and deal with my symptoms.. I read on your website that the only supplements I should take are the ones you specify, but I am afraid if I stop everything, my adrenals will not be supported. +++You can gradually decrease your adrenal supplements too. > Here's what I'm taking: > > Phosphatylserine (PS) > zinc > Cortico b5b6 (3x per day)- each pill contains b6 100mg, b5 500mg,magnesium 75mg) > Arginine with Magnesium > Ribose (I stopped this because I think it has sugar) > vitamin D > Iron > Omega > theanine > lysine > 5htp > melatonin > sam-e > I also take a multi-vitamin +++Holey cow, that's a lot of supplements! Most of them are not necessary on this program, which includes all of the amino acids, zinc, multi-vitamin, etc. Donna, this is getting complicated. Would you consider having a consultation with me? See this: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/consult.php Let me know if you are not able to get a consultation, and I'll try to get enough time to review your list above for you and advise. Like wrote, another pharmacy might have it, or find a compounding pharmacy - there's usually 1 in every city. I had to get a compounding pharmacy to make up my thyroid meds a few years ago, when all of the other pharmacies in the City had none. > i've been on the program for 3 months now, and on the thyroid meds for 4 years...i probably needed them long before that. any ggestions for how to handle this? should i just try a different raw thyroid to keep going for a few more months? or slowly back off my current dosage, before i run out altogether? i have 60 caps left and usually take 2. +++since you are on this program, you should be lowering your thyroid doses anyway. If your thyroid problem started 4 years ago, you should be off all meds within 2 months of starting this program, so you don't cause your thyroid to go crazy as it normalizes. Try taking 1 per day. You should do okay if you start to phase out thyroid meds now. +++That's amazing you are retracing your injured thumb! Good for you for recognizing it too! Guest guest
I knew there was a shortage of natural thyroid but it finally hit me. My pharmacy only had 20 Nature-Throid and no Armour. It looks like a long term shortage. I take 1 gr. 2x a day. I am going to my doctor Tuesday and think I will ask for generic Synthroid and Cytomel. I was thinking around 100mcg T4 and 25mcg T3. I would probably break the T3 in half for two doses a day. What do you think?

Guest guest
Thanks Phil. That wouldn't be cover by insurance. I just changed groups with my company and generics cost me $0! I want to take what works but if taking T4 and T3 can work fine without any crazy sides I would rather do that and not worry every time there is a nature thyroid shortage. Have you heard of people having good luck just taking synthetic T4 and T3? ________________________________ From: philip georgian <pmgamer18@...> Sent: Saturday, October 24, 2009 7:01:08 PM Subject: Re: Thyroid Meds No get this the FDA approved it to come into the USA from Cananda. It is hard enough at times on this diet without thinking symptoms are not from re-tracing or detoxifying but because of not enough thyroid meds in my body eg: tiredness, bloat/puffiness,irritability,cravings for sugar/caffeine for energy etc.that are all symptoms of hypothyroidism. +++Hi . Thyroid meds are absorbed in the small intestines, so having diarrhea, which happens in the large intestines, would not cause a problem. However, I melt thyroid meds in my mouth, which helps your body absorb them better than just swallowing them whole. +++If your thyroid lab tests are okay, do not be concerned, unless you have hypothyroid symptoms. When I was only taking synthetic meds I had symptoms, but after starting on a combination of natural and synthetic I do fine. > > You mentioned you were on a mix of synthetic and natural hormone mix ....what natural hormone are you on??....as I have done a bit of research and Armour and others have fillers and have been changed etc... +++I live in Canada and the natural one is just called thyroid. The US has changed their Armour meds which caused a lot of problems for many people. You can get natural dessicated thyroid meds made up by a compounding pharmacy. A few years ago Canada didn't have a supply of them, so I got a compounding pharmacy to make them for me. +++ Shomon is a good source of information on the thyroid: http://thyroid.about.com/bio/-Shomon-350.htm Also check out Dr. Rind's information: http://www.drrind.com/therapies/metabolic-therapy Dr. Rind recommends treating the adrenals with hormones too, but I don't because taking hormones negatively affect the body more than anything else and there is plenty of adrenal help and support on my program. See if you doctor agrees to start with 30 mg of Armour 2 times a day (morning and evening), and midday take 0.025 mg of synthetic, and then get tested in 1-2 months to see if it is okay. The reason you take them 3 times a day is to maintain blood levels, rather than taking it once a day. I've been doing that for over 12 years and it's working great for me.
