Guest guest
Hello Folks Brand new here. Have been on Testosterone replacement a bit over 3 months now and it has been very helpful for me. I had my first blood-work done and the results were all excellent with the exception of my DHT levels: they are double the highest allowable level! My Estradiol was in the low normal range. I am using Testogel 50mg one packet per day. Applied to the stomach and shoulders. I could really use expertise to direct me here. I have a number of questions: 1. How dangerous are such levels of DHT? Can they simply be ignored? 2. Are they dangerous at all? Some seem to think DHT is not " bad " if Estradiol is low. 3. Is there another non-injectable option that would offer bio-identical hormones, without the high DHT downside? I think you can see the dilemma I am facing. I would hate to have to quit the therapy - it has been so helpful. Any information or direction that you might pass on would really be appreciated. Guest guest
The gels do this my DHT levels were 3 to 4 time over the top of range and it did not do anything to me. Some feel it will make you lose your hair faster if your prone to this. Higher DHT levels are better for libido so they say. If it effects your Prostate you can take Saw Palmetto it is said to help keep DHT levels down in your prostate. I stopped using the gels because I had a hard time keeping my levels up. So I now do shots myself and feel much better doing shots is not as bad as you would think. My DHT now is dam low. You can also try a compounded cream there are a number of labs that will make it for you I used Collage and had good luck on it but when the gels came out my BCBS would not pay for the creams anymore. http://www.collegepharmacy.com/menshealth/andropause.asp I would stop putting the gel on my belly it can convert into E2 faster do to fat. Best to do upper arms and shoulder and down your back as far as you can reach. greenlantern19522000 <oooodwkeatoooo@...> wrote: Hello Folks Brand new here.
