Guest guest
One of the side effects of Lipitor is muscle weakness, I don't know about you but I have enough of that with the lyme. You can get Soloray Red Yeast Rice supplement that is a natural " statin " will do the same thing without the side effects. The Genie has lowered my cholesterol, plus I watch closely what I eat. I'm on a good liver product too, prescribed by my doc that runs my blood readings..... ******I sent you my telephone number if you want to talk about this feel free to call me.....This is Saturday night and will be home and up very late.... Guest guest
, My doctor perscribed crestor versus the others because of the muscle side effects - how would I know if I was having pain as a side effect when I already had muscle pain? He said by the time I figured out the side effects I could be permanently messed up. Crestor was not on my prescription insurance, but my PCP got it worked out. Guest guest
Have any of you found that taking Lipitor or other statin drugs has effected your Libido and/or erectile abililities? Have any of your doctors mentioned this possibility? My DH has an appointment with Dr. Andre Guay at the sexual health clinic at the Lahey in Peabody MA. I'll let you all know waht Dr. Guay has to say. Michele
Guest guest
Michele, I take Lipitor once a day and it does not effect my erectile abilities. I have secondary hypogonadism and take HCG shots twice a week. My libido is now better than ever. Hope this helps! Guest guest
I take Zetia for cholesterol (was told it's the most " liver friendly). My cholesterol is still un-Godly high but it's the liver disease that causes it. holsteindonna <holsteindonna@...> wrote: I HAVE AIH AND ALL OF MY LEVELS ARE WITHIN NORMAL RANGE MY PCP SUBSCRIBED LIPITOR FOR ME BECAUSE MY CHOLESTEROL IS SOMEWHAT HIGH. ALSO, I HEAR DIFFERENT OPINIONS OF OVER THE COUNTER PAIN RELIEF. I TAKE TYLENOL AND ADVIL ONLY ONCE IN A WHILE FOR HEADACHE OR BACKACHE. WHAT'S EVERYONE'S TAKE ON OVER THE COUNTER. Guest guest
Hi There... I also am prescribed Zetia...Have been on it a couple years now. Hasn't helped much, but since it is the (liver friendliest), I don't mind taking it. And like says it is the liver disease that has everything out of control... which in my case right now is just about everything. Guest guest
Hi Donna, In my case, my hep said the benefits of taking Lipitor far outweighed any concerns about the liver, as long as I had my LFT's every 3 months to monitor for any changes. Both sides of my family have a history of heart disease and of dying young (50's and 60's) from it. It's been 6 years now and my levels have remained normal. I have AIH and PBC. My cholesterol has gone from 264 to 124. Take care, Sandy C.
