Guest guest
Rogoff Family, I have the same problem with soy. I am hypothyroid and am forever on diet - lately I can't lose weight at all, so probably soy is the culprit - I stopped HRT because of a fibroid in my breast and because of hot flashes I started taking the soy " tablets " to replace the HRT and they do stop the hot flashes. So what to do? I have to eat bran in the morning (because of acute constipation) and I eat the bran with soy milk - please help! Guest guest
Hi Marcia, I don't know why you were taking HRT but have you ever checked into Natural Progesterone cream? There is an excellent book called " What your doctor may not tell you about Menopause " by Dr Lee. I would really recommend that you read it. I started using it last October and my health has improved tremendously. I am premenopause but I needed the progesterone because I am estrogen dominant(which in turn impacts the thyroid). The Natural progesterone should actually protect against fibroids(I've had 4 surgeries myself to have them removed). As far as your soy milk, I stopped eating cereal and get my fiber from Psyllium. I'm an egg girl now. in Ames --- Marcia Perlroth <leonmarc@...> wrote: > > Rogoff Family, > > I have the same problem with soy. Guest guest
>I eat the bran with soy milk - please help! I don't know where you are, but where I live, the health food stores sell rice milk, almond milk, and oat milk. I like all three, especially the vanilla flavour. ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com

Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for the info. I was put on HRT 8 years ago when I had to have a hysterectomy because of a fast-growing fibroid (my uterus was the size of a 4month pregnancy. For now, I decided to wean myself off the soy alternative pills, am taking 1 a day instead of 2 - and so far haven't had any hot flushes yet. I'll finish the jar in about 2 weeks and then see if I'm free of the hot flushes. Does one need a prescription for the progesterone cream? I do take Psyllium - 1 tablespoon in the morning and one at night, with juice. Should I take more? I'd like to stop eating the bran cereal. How much, and how do you take the Psyllium? Will this alleviate my constipation? Thanks for the help. Marcia Attachment: vcard [not shown]

Guest guest
Hi Marcia, --- Marcia Perlroth <leonmarc@...> wrote: > Does one need a prescription for the progesterone > cream? No, it is over the counter. Dr Lee has a list of acceptable brands in an appendix of his book. Most of the brands don't put their potency on the label but look for USP Progesterone as an ingredient. I try to stay away from brands with a scent and/or wild yam as an ingredient. You may also visit http://www.drjohnlee.com/ where he might have some recommendations. >I do take Psyllium - 1 tablespoon in the > morning and one at night, with juice. Should I take > more? I think you have to experiment to see what works for you. I take a product from Health Freedom Resources that helps with constipation. It is called Intestinal Cleanse #1 and is formulated to strengthen the colon. They are not fiber but herbs that help to improve the function of the colon. They are not damaging and really help. They are on the net too, I actually purchase the product through Southern Botanicals.
