Hello All, just got back from the Doctor and all looks well. He gave me some ambian to help me sleep, thank Goodness. So now I am taking 4 rebetol a day, one shot a week, 2 aleve a day compazine for nausia, and my Hydrocodone and pazil. Pills Pills Pills. Side effects are horrible, but I will be fine. I'm doing better than I exspected. In reference to the new person about preparing food. It is fine to cook for others, the virus can not be spread that way, even if blood were to drop into the food. You need to buy you some books on Hep-C. I have 4 if you would like the names of them. Take care All, Love Hanna

Hi there.I've recently found out that I have tested positive for Hepatitis C.I may have gotten it from a blood transfusion back in the early 80's and never knew it until donating blood at a local hospital.I depend on our local 'charity' hospital for all my medical needs and it's not easy to get the info I need there. Now that the shock of finding out I have it has almost went away I have many questions.I have found some info on the net. What I'd like to know is: Can I continue to work in a kitchen preparing food for the public?I just went to work in fast food. I've always been very careful of washing my hands constantly.I'm afraid that if I ask a boss I'll be fired.I don't want to jeopardise the health of our customers but want to keep my job if there's no danger to the public.I'd appreciate any input or links to info regarding this. Thanx so much.

Carol, I have had all that and more for years. Since I never had a

rash, I have a small mark on my leg which appeared from seemingly no

where! looks sort of like a spider web of light viens and slightly

miscolored skin... nothing really, almost looks like a faint birth

mark. I get swollen glands, lung infections, sinus infections, trip

over my feet, my tongue, my mind.. lol.In a short hop to the store, I

drove 15 minutes past my point of destination!

I was ready to give up when the Doxycyline they put me on was causing

Herx... figured if this was help, I don't want it.. then I went to a

specialist today he told me I needed to try another anti-biotic, the

Doxycyline isn't going to work for me. Hang in there, there is hope I

saw many people who have been there and are now back!

Hi,

I have been religiously following this forum and is a source of great

knowledge. Thanks all.

I was looking to share my experience .. and get some advice in the

process as well.

I had Ulcerative colitis at age 17 and a relapse again at 28. The

dcotor put me on steroids the second time around, including

prednisone. What he did not tell me was that that would have real

harmful side effects. Sure enough .. 3 years down i'm extremely low on

testosterone which has given me ED.

My PCP put me on Androgel .. and conveniently skipped the fact that it

would lower my sperm count. My first endo .. she wanted me to continue

with Androgel and in fact increase dosage .. All this while my sperm

counts were being reduced.

Finally, i figured i've had enough .. I did my research and am now

going to an endo i can trust. He took me off Androgel so that i get

back to my self generated levels. It's been 4 mths now.

This week he's going to prescribe i believe HCG which would boost both

my testosterone and sperm counts without acting against each other. I

really hope i get it right this time.

Any feedback will be appreciated. Do we have a good understanding of

medications that act to increase both, testosterone and sperm.

Anybody with similar experiences out there.

I understand colitis further complicates matters .. and i hate how the

doctors do not take the time to clearly go over the side effects of

some of the things they seem to so readily prescribe.

Thanks!

hCG acts like LH & can elevate sperm counts somewhat (as sperm

production requires intratesticular testosterone, which hCG

stimulates), but hMG can help even more. human Menopausal

Gonadotropin contains FSH (which is also vital for sperm production),

as well as LH

Human_Menopausal_Gonadotropin.jsp

) & (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spermatogenesis#Hormonal_control ).

*Sorry, the first link says " female treatments " for infertility, but

it also pertains to spermatogenesis.*

hCG alone often does not elevate testosterone as much as testosterone

injections. Quite a number of guys here take both testosterone itself

& hCG, which should help get the benefits of both (sufficiently high

levels of T, normal testicle size, & sperm production).

Thanks for your response Xian. It is very helpful.

I did see my endo last week .. My 'self-generated' levels came out

better than last time.

LH - 4.9 miu/ml, FSH - 3.3 miu/ml, testosterone 211 ng/dl.

My sperm levels seem to be reasonable at > 100 million/ml.

He did subscribe me with HCG only. Chorionic Gonadotropin 1000 units

every other day which he said was the standard dosage.

Be interesting to see if i could work with HCG only or would need TRT

as well.

I've been taking odwalla original superfood the last week or so .. and

i feel so much better overall.

I feel it's important to focus on out diet and high energy foods in

addition to TRT.
