Guest guest
My doctor wanted me to come in for some blood work prior to renewing my AndroGel prescription. This is fine as I tested out of range low on all three Testosterone tests. He has since increased my AndroGel from 5 gms to 7 1/2 gms. The price of testing is getting to be significant. Electrolyte panel $ 85.45 Hepatic Function $174.85 Assay of creatine $ 23.05 Assay of Estradiol $123.50 Assay of sex hormone globul $ 48.55 Assay of total testosterone $ 48.65 Assay thyroid stim hormone $135.45 Assay of urea nitrogen $ 22.15 PSA total screening $110.90 Total Claim $772.55 He wants to retest me in 3 months. Ouch! Double Ouch!! " "
Guest guest
I assume he's not going to repeat -all- the tests. I doubt you need a repeat of the PSA, unless the number is off, of course. Some insurances frown on getting PSAs too often, or at least thats what the Drs tell me. I assume you're covered under insurance, otherwise the cost of the Androgel alone would get almost prohibitively expensive. I think one of my blood draws are broken down according to original lab costs before insurance. I'll have to check and compare. At first glance though, some of yours actually look cheaper, believe it or not. Rich > > My doctor wanted me to come in for some blood work prior to renewing my > AndroGel prescription.
