Hi guys,

I just wrote to to see if I can be the moderator here. Our moderator is bouncing and is no longer here since 2005. If possible I will try my best to get things cleaned up so people can actually talk about what this site was designed for.

Sincerely, Teri

I also get them from most if not all my .

Tonio

junk mail

Whenever I mail MN I get a copy of my mail back (fine) plus a string

along bit of spam from a software site. Is this happening to anyone

else? It doesn't happen on any other group or at any other time. I

mailed the owner but it's still happening -- anyone else?

This is the only bit of spam I get -- maybe I need to contact the

moderators group. I am a moderator on another group.

They instituted that when they started " free " groups. To pay for the service.

That was years ago, and I'm not sure of the status now, but back then

I think one could pay a yearly fee, which gets rid of the messages.

Hi Sally,

As far as getting a copy of emails and the advertising string, if I'm

understanding this correctly, the copy you get is the normal message

sent out to the whole group and always attaches some advertising

to Group emails. I don't even notice them, but I see they're

there. I looked at some messages from a few other I

belong to to compare and they all have the same advertising string.

Whether it's a visual nuisance is probably determined by the specific

formatting used by a given email client program. In gmail, the

formatting is clean and I never notice the ads.

This is a great time to remind folks to delete that junk from their

replies and only include the relevant bits! It's second-nature for

some of us, but others just hit reply and pile junk upon junk!

Change your preferences to read the forum posting only

on the web, do not have anything sent to your own email.

If you happen to get a spam email on your own main address,

then report it as spam to your server and also block that

address from coming to you again.

Alternatively, change your email address and let everyone

know.

If you have a Email account just hit the spam button this stops it in my

MSN account I hit junk and it gets blocked.

Members here that get posts in there Email should open a Free Email

account and have the posts sent to this Email so there reg. account dose not get

over loaded.
