Guest guest
I searched and see references to grinding it up and putting it in milk. But also, it was said that you need to take it with bromelain and zinc in order for it to work? Is anyone taking these daily? I'm also curious if there are any current stories about whether or not they help? Also, are the b17 tablets as effective as the actual seeds? Would you please post or email me the article that said this (particularly re: zinc). I think it's rather commonly known that laetrile's much more effective if taken w/proteolytic enzymes (e.g., bromelain, pancreatin) and vit. A (also NAC and manganese, I heard). B17 (aka amygdalin/laetrile) tends to help slightly. Apricot kernels are " generally good, not too expensive, and rarely a downside " (Gammill, 2000). When laetrile's given IV in huge doses, it tends to help moderately (but it's relatively ineffective w/brain cancer, sarcoma, and benign tumors). >Also, are the b17 tablets as effective as the actual seeds? I suspect think the tablets are ground up seeds. Schachter, M.D. and Brodie, M.D. have prescribed 500 mg taken 3 times a day or 3-5 apricot kernals 3 times a day (Diamond et al., 1997, pp. 78-79, 376). Take several small doses throughout the day (NOT 1 large dosage). “start with a minimum amount and increase slowly…take them with food!….chew them extremely well, or [grind them into] powder.†I would NOT take more than 5 at a time nor more than a total of 25/day. Apple, pear, and watermelon seeds also contain B17. Leonard
Guest guest
Leonard, it was not an article, it was from various posts here on this board, where members discussed the apricot seeds, and someone mentioned that it had to be taken with zinc and bromelain, so I was asking for clarification. I'm interested in adding it to help with the tumor on my neck. i did a lot of reading last night and it seems to have a good track record of reducing tumors, so I thought it might be worth a shot. When you say, " take with " bromelain, etc., does that mean they have to be taken at the same time, or just as part of the daily intake? Right now, I am taking systemic enzymes, Zymessence, which contain bromelain and/or papain (I'll have to confirm which or both - I thought they were the same). Would I have to buy just pure bromelain to take with the seeds? The tablets - they have to be chewed also? Just trying to get some clarity - the sites that sell the seeds don't give any information about how to take them, for obvious reasons. Thanks! > > Posted by: " detwa_3017 " epurdles@... detwa_3017 > >said that you need to take it with bromelain and zinc in order for it to work? > > Would you please post or email me the article that said this (particularly re: zinc). > I think it's rather commonly known that laetrile's much more effective if taken w/proteolytic enzymes (e.g., bromelain, pancreatin) and vit. Guest guest
Okay, any thoughts on the best way to digest the ground apricot seeds? I just started yesterday and I had read of some people putting them in pineapple juice a few times a day. I used organic grape juice today, but now I'm concerned about my sugar/fructose intake, even though its fruit and I only use a few tbsp each time. Someone else suggested milkshakes, but then there's the dairy factor. If I'm to take these about six times a day, then I need an acceptable method that won't harm my diet or feed the cancer. Should I order empty capsules and put the powder in the capsules throughout the day? > > I searched and see references to grinding it up and putting it in milk. Guest guest
I hope my mention of my neighbor ordered to drink 'shakes' by his Oncologist because that was as bad advice that could have been given. there is no doubt but that juices have a high concentration of sugar which is why when eaten, with the pulp, the Glycemic effect is lessened. If you were to chew the seven or so seeds with 'some' pineapple juice, if that is the preferred way, I don't see you " feeding the cancer " with enough of the juice to aid in downing and assimilating the Apricot kernels. Perhaps Leonard will jump in here with some suggestions. As for an answer as to whether or not they help? Tough to answer because nothing works for all people all the time and you need to find out if your particular cancer is often helped by B-17 intake. Joe C.
