Guest guest
Hey Jim, I just barely stick the needle through the septum and withdrawl the T. If you still get air - toss it and get a new vial. Most of the time yu have already accessed the vial 15-20 times. Everytime you puncture the septum, the risk of contamination goes up so that extra 1 or 2 doses may not be worth it in the long run. Arkansas " JimS. Is there a trick to doing this or should I just plan to get 9 ml out of a 10 ml vial and throw the rest away? Guest guest
Jim, do you feel you are doing better on test cyp than Androgel? I am thinking of making the switch myself. Guest guest
Phil, I use an 18g 1 1/2 in needle to withdraw the fluid and a 25G 1 in needle to inject. What really annoys me is that my health insurance would pay for Androgel but for some reason they won't pay for test cyp. Since I have to pay for it out of my own pocket it annoys me to throw 10% of it away. Guest guest
Jim, Check your benefits book for injectable medications and see what is covered. My insurance covers injectable medications differently than androgel which is considered part of the prescription program. In addition, injections for me are much much cheaper than androgel. I pay $8 for 3 months worth of depo T and would have to pay $140 for androgel. L " JimS. Guest guest
Jim tell your Dr. to call them and tell them you can't take the androgel it does not get though your skin and they will have to pay for it. I use a 27g 1ml x 1/2 " lg. needle when I pull the T out of the vile I just pull the plunger all the way down and hold it it comes out slow but in a min. or two it is at the dose I need. Phil " JimS. Guest guest
I recently switched from Androgel to test cyp. When I got down to 1 ml left in the vial, I couldn't figure out a way to get it out. When I invert the vial, the layer of liquid is so thin that I can't position the needle properly to draw it out. I get mostly air with a little liquid. Is there a trick to doing this or should I just plan to get 9 ml out of a 10 ml vial and throw the rest away? Jim Hey Jim, No question is silly, there are always answers to the silliest of questions. There are no silly questions only sometimes silly answers. We are all serious here! I broke a needle off trying to get the rest out until discovered when the bottle is low all you have to do is, stick the needle in sideways or an angle so you can tip the bottle on its side and it will suck up the remainder out until it is dry. Try it and see if this works for you, does for me. Everytime you puncture the septum, the risk of contamination goes up so that extra 1 or 2 doses may not be worth it in the long run. Arkansas Hey Dan, I have never drawn 15-20 times from a bottle of 200mg of Depo Testosterone, how do you do that when you are drawing 80mg each time? If my calculations are correct I get two doses and part of another. My suggestion was to stick the needle barely in at an angle so you could tip the bottle to one side and you can draw ALL of it out completely. Works for me and this guys says he has to pay out of pocket so it would be worthwhile to draw all of it. Regards, Roy --------------------------------- How low will we go? Guest guest
Roy - I think your calculations are off. The test cyp is 200 mg per ml and there are 10 ml in the vial. So a dose of 80 mg would be .4 ml and there would be 25 doses in the vial. My dose is 200 mg so I get 10 doses per vial (or 9 if I can't get the last one out). Hi, I buy my Test because it's FAR cheaper than to do the insurance deal... for me my insurance will cover injectables at 40$/month... but 10ml's of test is ~5 months (actually a little less because there is a little over 4 weeks per month)... so I pay 55$/vial instead of 200+$ via insurance. but here's the math. at 200mg you're probably talking about cypionate (one of the reasons I tend to buy enthenate... it's typically 250mg/ml and they're the same price) but that's PER ML (aka CC) so a 10ml multiuse vial at 80mg a dose is 25 doses x=((200*10)/80). now ampules are a different matter... an ampule is one of those little glass thingies you snap the end off and draw the liquid out of... and yes you can buy test in ampules... but they're intended to be single doses. (though I get HCG in ampules and just load up a whole SLEW of little insulin syringes and refrigerate it)
Guest guest
Hey Roy - I get a 10 ml vial of 200 mg/ml. That is about 0.4 ml per dose. You must be using a 1 ml vial. Dan Dan, I'm sorry I get a 2 ml CYP 200 mg size vial. That does make a difference doesn't it? Sorry about that. I have always received the same quantity vial so I didn't know about the 10 ml vial. I don't think the VA has any other sizes. Yes I take 0.4 ml per dose. Regards, Roy --------------------------------- Get your own web address for just $1.99/1st yr. We'll help. Small Business. I do take 0.4 ml shots however Thanks, Roy --------------------------------- All-new - Fire up a more powerful email and get things done faster. Dan Dan you must think I'm nuts. Well not quite yet but getting there. I rechecked my vial and the box it comes in. On the box it says it is 2 ml vial but on the vial which is so small I had to use a glass to read it it does say 1 mi vial, so now I know. Why they would do that I don't know but you hit it on the head that is a 1 ml vial.
