Guest guest
I am a 25 year old male who was recently diagnosed with hypogonadism. Two weeks ago, I went to a family doctor because I was experiencing extreme fatigue, depression, and trouble concentrating. She suggested running some blood work, and after seeing the results referred me to a urologist. The urologist informed me that my testosterone level was 200 ng/dl, and that it was extremely low for a man my age. He collected a urine sample, a blood sample, and sent me in for an ultrasound of the testes. He explained that they would be testing the levels of LH and FSH in my blood. I'm assuming the ultrasound is to check for any masses in the testes. The urologist also touched on testosterone replacement therapy, and infertility. He said that I should freeze sperm before beginning any treatments. I am not married, and don't have children, but would like to some day. So, to say the least this was like having a bomb dropped on me. I have my second appointment with the urologist scheduled for Tuesday, and he will discuss the results of my tests. I don't really know what to expect, and was wondering if anyone could offer any helpful advice.
