Office in sdale, Arizona and one in california I believe.

This doc has 17 years experience inserting pellets in males.

He sent me a blood work order and I had the blood drawn this

morning. He will call me when results are back to him and then

set up appointment. First visit including a five month supply of

pellets is about $1000, and about $800 each time thereafter.

After 35 years of self injecting, I am looking forward to this

experience. I sincerly hope that I will feel consistantly " good "

all the time while avoiding the weekly hassle of shots. I know

Ernest on this list swears by pellet therapy, and I also know some

of you have tried pellets with reported unsatisfactory results.

I figure why not try it, especially from a doc with a lot of

experience, particularly with males. I will have to take a somewhat

cheap flight of 400 miles to his office a couple of times a year, so

add that to the cost. However, I can afford to give this a try, and

if the results are good, the cost means nothing to me.

I will keep you all posted after they are inserted.

I would be very interested at this point in hearing from those of

you who have tried pellets, with your comments.

Thanks all

Hi,

You are jumping into a more expensive therapy than you need to.

Your visits to Dr. Gambrell would be about $450 every 4 months and if

you were on Medicare most of that would be paid for in GA. The pellets

do not last 5 months.

I think you could get a flight to GA for less than the money you are

planning to spend. Dr. Gambrell has been providing pellet therapy

since the mid 70's if my memory serves me right.

Hi Again,

I have no idea how many pellets you will get, but thought you would

like to hear how Dr. Gambrell, Augusta GA determines your dosage.

Subtract 30 pounds from your total wieght and for every 10 pounds

remaining, you should get a 75 mg pellet. In my case I am about 245

and I get 20 pellets. It is rare he gives anyone more than 20.

Hi Earnest, I do not live in Georgia and I am not on Medicare,

however I do understand that you are and the US taxpayers pick up

the cost of your pellet therapy. Good for you!

this doctor will be broke waiting on his web site to be fixed.

Your search - www.sottopellethero py.com - did not match any documents.

Suggestions:

Make sure all words are spelled correctly.

Try different keywords.

Try more general keywords.

Try fewer keywords.

I'll agree with one part of your post for sure:

" if the results are good, the cost means nothing to me. "

I'm going to check the website you listed, if he's in CA, he's worth talking

to at least for me.

Okay, this is going to sound cruel, perhaps, but Dr Gambrell's been in

practice for 30+ years, right? Means he's at least in his 60's, probably

pushing 70+. So, for those who aren't established with him, what's the risk

of him not being around (retires, dies, etc) in a few years? It's so hard

to find a good doc, but I wouldn't want to go cross country to establish a

relationship with one on the verge of retiring. Does Gambrell have

associates he has trained that will continue his practice and ideas?

I know Earnest is a big fan of pellets and they've worked well for

him, but I'm personally very concerned about them as an approach. Many

of us have a hard time finding proper dosing on very certain methods,

such as weekly shots. Someone posted here recently he was taking about

25% of what most of us take and getting high levels from that.

It's very clear to me that there is wide variability in how different

people respond to T and how much is too little, too much and just

right. Add in E2 conversion considerations, etc. and it's a fairly

complex and individualistic business.

Pellets don't allow for ready dose tinkering and adjustment. Given

the added expense, I don't see why they are worth it. I feel Earnest

is lucky to have found something that works just right for him. But I

really question their efficacy over something as readily adjustable

and responsive as weekly shots.

Hi,

I did not hear that subject mentioned in his discussion about the dosage.

I will not make a guess as I have no information on that at all.

Hi,

Yes Dr. GAmbrell is in his early 70's.

He has a young associate in his office named Dr. Natrajan who also has

a web site that is nearly identical to Dr. Gambrell's.

His health is of concern to us as well. The wife receives 2 E and 1 T

pellets every 4 months even though she is now 73. It is very good to

have these hormone levels in the body to help avoid the aging process.

We had our previous pellet doctor in NJ die leaving us without a

doctor until we found Dr, gambrell who was also a student of Dr.

Greenblatt in Augusta many years ago.

Hi Dave,

I checked with Dr. Gambrell regarding body fat. The following is his

reply.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Ernie
I can understand how such a question would arise since steroid
hormones like estradiol and testosterone are stored in body fat. The
bloodstream then takes what it needs from the fat. We always implant
the pellets in the subcutaneous fat. However, the formula works well
in both thin men and very obese men. This formula has worked well for
my patients for the past 37 years.
