Guest guest
you need to test your Cortisol and Thyroid do a morning Cortisol as early as you can. Test Free T4 and Free T3 you TSH is to dam high and if your Cortisol is low this can be why your T levels are low. Treat Cortisol of Andrenal Fatigue first then Thyroid and after your tests are good doing Armour check your T levels again. If your Dr. is an Endo find a good DO for a Dr. and get tested to find out why your so low before going on TRT it is to dam hard to find out after your on TRT. Next time you post labs put in the range. Go to the link and read up on Thyroid Problems. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ The Estradiol you did in the past was for women. Your E2 is dam good. Can you tell me how you feel. Go to www.allthingsmale.com and read TRT: A Recipe for Success and the HCG Update all the tests you need are in this and why. HCG at Wal-Greens is about $45.00 for Novarel. Phil fkw1122 <fkw1122@...> wrote: Every time I've had my numbers checked, T has been low or low-normal and estradiol has been high. I had assumed my E was going to be high because it always has been. On the 'normal' test it was always over 60 never normal. I was all set to request Arimidex but this totally threw me a curve. She did give me a prescription for compounded bio-identical testosterone. I need to go over this with the wife first. She still has hopes of getting preggers (most unlikely) and I don't know if HCG is covered, and my Endo told me it's not a cheap one. We're really on the poor side of the line these days. Guest guest
Does testing cortisol as in morning cortisol have any relation to sleep times..I don't live a normal schedule and usually sleep from mid morning until late afternoon/early evening. Would I still test it in the morning, or what? I'm up all night usually..I'm just nocturnal by nature. I have an appointment to see my PCP next month, and I can probably get him to order the tests with a copy to my Endo. If you don't think it can wait, I can probably get her or him to give me the paperwork before I see him. Thanks. P.S. Guest guest
, I don't know how you feel about your T numbers, which are on the low side but, I can tell you that you are hypothyroid. I'm suprised you don't feel a bit worn. Even a T of 319 for a younger man is on the sluggish side of low. Guest guest
Try to do the test as soon as you get up from sleeping. This is when it's the highest. Guest guest
It's hard to define how I feel. I have a debilitating back problem consisting of multiple herniations and leaks in the lumbar disk. I have an intrathecal morphine pump implant (which doesn't affect mental state nor eneergy levels), plus I have to take muscle relaxers...however I've been on most of them for so long that they don't make me sleepy or anything. My T always tests low or low-normal. This was the first time TSH tested high that I can recall. I do believe I should have more energy and mental acuity than I do most of the time, but I always put it down to my inactivity because of my back, maybe I've been wrong..never assume.. Thanks Vickie, > > > > > > Every time I've had my numbers checked, T has been low or low- > > normal > > > and estradiol has been high. Guest guest
Thanks Phil, I'll try and work my sleeping into a pattern where I can do this and make sure the clinic is still open to draw the labs. Is cortisol one I'd have to get done at a hospital or any blood draw site? This last round they had me down for the homocystene test, but they said I had to go to the hospital for it, so I passed until next time. > > Every time I've had my numbers checked, T has been low or > low-normal > > and estradiol has been high. Guest guest
I have the same problem with my back when I would stand to walk I was all bent out of shape to walk it took some 15 min's. of walking before I could walk with my back straight. I was house bound and did nothing I was on gels Androgel and Testim and found out posting here that the gels did this to Norton he God Bless him got back to me telling me to do shots that my pain will go away. I got off the gels and started on shots and in just 2 weeks my pain was less and I could stand up and walk with out pain. I had a long time ago an MRI on my back and it showed herniations in the low 3 disk's. Now doing 100mgs every week helped but my levels were not high enough so we upped the dose to 150 mgs a week of Depo T shots and my levels were still on the low side so I got my Dr. to add HCG I did 500 IU's 3 x's a week and after the 15th. shot of HCG we tested and my levels for Total doubled and my pain was gone I started working got up to 45 min's a day and then started going to the gym and working out on machines. I lost over 65 lbs. and was feeling on top of he world. What are your T levels and if your on TRT what are you doing. Phil fkw1122 <fkw1122@...> wrote: It's hard to define how I feel. Guest guest
The cortisol test is just a blood test. No need to go to the Hospital for it. Guest guest
Hi all, I've been trying to get my Endo to authorize the recommend tests (cortisol, t3, t4)..I just now remembered I had my cortisol tested last year, and it was fine...I believe my TSH tested fine then also for what it's worth. The problem with getting to my Dr. is I have to go through her office woman, who is the ONLY person to deal with..she can be a pain, but the Dr. is great..I will be seeing my regular Dr. in early Feb so I can get him to send me for the bloodwork as a worst case senario. Does last years good cortisol result count for anything today (I've had ED and low T problems for many years but haven't done TRT yet). I do have a script for compounded testosterone but I haven't filled it yet due to the thyroid TSH being elevated and the group's advice. > Every time I've had my numbers checked, T has been low or low-normal > and estradiol has been high. Guest guest
, Last year's good TSH and cortisol should be directional to deeming it still OK. However, this should not preclude you from getting T4, T3 to throughly and completely rule out hypopituitarism as it relates to the thyroid and adrenals. Let's try to get the doctor to confirm once and for all for you that the issue your are dealing with is hypogon. and not a thyroid or adrenal issue. Once you have identified the problem (and then primary or secondary), you can resolve the actual disease with TRT, SERMS, HCG, ED meds, E2 meds, etc. Blessings, Bill > > Every time I've had my numbers checked, T has been low or > low-normal > > and estradiol has been high. Guest guest
I have the numbers somewhere, but they are lost in the labyrinth I call my house at the moment. If I find them I will post them. My PCP should have a copy I think. -- / K. Woolf /
