Guest guest
Hello all. I've not posted or read the board in many a moon, mostly because my TRT issues were under control and happy to move on, but glad this resource is always here for some good information. Recently my labs showed excessively high hematocrit (58). I'm curious if my diuretic pill for hypertension (Dyazide) could be the culprit. I've been on that Dyzaide for years, and it's never been an issue with the hematocrit on prior blood labs, or when I was on much higher doses of TRT (Test Cypionate) than I am currently taking. Does anyone have data to show just how much hydration levels can affect the hematocrit %? I just read a post on a similar topic where the advice was to take 2 8-oz glass of water before drawing labs. What's the real scoop on keeping this safe? The doc has me afraid I'm going to stroke or heart attack, but I can't give blood.
