Guest guest
If your on the gels now testing LH and FSH will be way down because your on them. The brain stops sending the LH and FSH to the testis when you add T to your body. Go to www.allthingsmale.com and read TRT: A Recipe for success and in this are tests you needed done and why also read the HCG update doing this with gels or shots helps keep your testis working. Guest guest
i dont get this so you go on trt becasue of low t plus low lh/fsh and trt makes it worse?? not sure if i like that if someone can explain simply to me please regards paul i have been advised by my support team having trt at this time would not be advisable and will concetrate on getting either concerta [if i can get my blood pressure down] or maybe strrattera both of those may help with my anxiety/lethargy/depresion/mood swings etc without resorting to trt, though as saaid i still need the correct diagnosis and hope i will get that somehow, dont know how, maybe if my own doctor gets me the blood tests i need she will diagnose hypogonadism secondary and leave the endo out of it. Guest guest
Hi , Yes here is how it works in my words you get tested your Total and Free T leves are low your LH and FSH are also low this means you are not getting the messages from you pituitary gland to make enough T. So this is called Secondary. Or your Total nad Free T is low and your LH and FSH are high this means your pituitary is asking for more T but your testis can't make it. So this is Primary. When one gose on TRT or adds T meds to the blood the brain sees this and stops sending the messages LH and FSH to the testis to make T. So if your on T meds. LH and FSH will always be on the low side. Adding HCG acts like LH and the testis go back to work making T if your primary they will make as much as they can but they are still working. Guest guest
Hi, that is great news! When the dr started reducing my son's meds it was by pills. For example, he was at 12.5 mgs = 5 pills and then went down to 10mgs or 4 pills, etc. Each pill was 2.5 mgs, obviously. If your daughter is on mtx shots, it might be in the same increments. For my son, he was kept at each dose for about 2 months (about the amount of time between visits) and if he was controlled ok, then down to the next. If not he was left where he was until next visit. My son was 17 when we started this process and after a bit, once he was over 18, took himself off meds entirely. Not my choice, his. He did quite well for a long time, but did begin to have more flares. However, many kids do get off entirely and may not flare for a long time, if at all. It is very hard to give absolutes. It is a great step forward for your daughter to begin reducing the meds. Here's hoping she gets all the way to a non-medicated remission! Let us know how she doing. Michele ( 21, spondy) ________________________________ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of rade_milena Sent: Wednesday, April 29, 2009 5:03 AM Subject: fingers crossed hi, my daughter is 3 and a half now and has been on 7.5mg of mtx for a year now without a flare so next week we go back to the consultant and provided her bloods are ok they are going to start reducing her meds. Previously she had been flaring every 2 months for a year and was having steroid injections every couple of months so this feels like a miracle, I have my daughter back and some! So now I'm happy and terrified in equal measures. Does anyone have any experience of lowering mtx dose, how gradually do they do it and over what period of time. How likely is it that she will flare again and how quickly could this happen. I dont really know what to expect and am just hoping for the best.
