We used to pay $20 a month for it and now since we get the generic we pay $10 a month. I have a question though. I give my husband 1 cc (injection) each week... I was giving it to him in his arm but then as time went by..it started to hurt more and more...like scar tissue built up. Now I give them to him in the lower back...right above his butt cheek..(doc pointed out this spot), the only other spot I know of is his thigh...do any of you know of other spots we could try? I am one of them. Go to this site and read TRT:A Recipe for Success and the HCG Update. I feel this is the best treatment protocol so far. http://www.allthingsmale.com/ If you go on shots start at 100 mgs. every week and once you get leveled at a range in the upper 1/3 of your labs range for both total and free t add in HCG to keep your testis from getting small. Guest guest Posted January 3, 2006 Report Share Posted January 3, 2006 If your doctor is willing to put you on injectable T that is good. Normal dosing for that starts at 100 mg per week of enanthate or cypionate. You must have the injection once every 7 days. Twice a month or every other week is no good. This is also much less expensive than Androgel, if you do your own injections at home. As pmgamer said, once your levels are stable, HCG is highly reccomended in addition to the T. They told me at the place where I get his medicine that it's the biggest needle and I have to have the biggest one because the testosterone is so thick. But I kinda doubt that. Push the T in very slow make sure he has his foot off he floor on a step stool so he is not felxed on the muscle of the side you are giving the shot. And when I do my shots at home because I can't get to the Dr. I use a 25g x 1 inch long for my thy shots. Today my Dr. told me to try doing my shots in my leg every 3 days. I actually underloaded the needle one week and made up the shortage with a 30g insulin needle injecting into the tricep. Injecting with a small guage needle isn't the problem, it's drawing it into the vial. The smaller the guage, the longer and more effort it takes. I've not been doing this very long, but I find that over pressurizing the vial really helps: if I want to draw out 1/2cc, I inject 2 or 3 cc's of air into the vial. Just make sure needle is in the fluid when you reverse the flow. If you've got any kind of fat on your thighs you may be injecting right into the E-generating fat.
