Guest guest
Ok I'll explain. My bone density two years ago was -2 and I was diagnosed with osteopenia. I have been on all manner of TRT for two years and I have always felt much worse than prior to treatment- no matter what.....on treatment underarm hair has fallen out and a beard now cannot be grown. I have been on all of the follwoing at differing doses at differing points Androgel, Testim, with an without Arimidex, I have been on HCG, DHT gel, testosterone proprionate injections. Nothing has worked, I don't think testosterone has worked as it has for other people- at all. I have become much worse year on year. I found out a number of weeks ago that my bone density has sunk to - 2.7 and I now have osteoporosis of the spine. This is totally at odds with what should happen on TRT, it is at odds with all my blood levels- but fits perfectly with ever worsening syptoms of testosterone deficiency. I have no idea what is likely to be the answer in terms of treatment, but I do need to keep on top of E2 a little. BUT Arimidex lowers estrogen and can also adversely affect bone formation, plus getting such meds prescribed isn't easy. In the UK Raloxifene is licensed for the treatment of osteoporosis, so I think I would have a strong case in getting it prescribed. Obviously it lowers the effect of estradiol, but helpfully it increases bone density. What is the experience of Raloxifene in this setting? Thoughts again are welcome. Also my endocrinologist thinks that pulsatile treatment is what is required. On that note she thinks GnRH therapy maybe more effective than anything I have been on so far, she seems to think that my issue is partly liver related- I had two thirds of it removed due to cancer and possibly metabolic. Trust me when I say that I have had perfect numbers from a variety of treatments both in terms of E2 and TRT and Prolactin, SHBG, Growth hormone and thyroid are not issues. The numbers in my case do not seem particularly helpful regarding my condition........the body just does not respond well (I have paid for my own genetic tests and Kallmans and Klinefelters syndrome are not involved- normal male chromsones....I have previously had chemotherapy. All opinions welcome.
