Guest guest
Phil, I have to believe that the shorter and smaller diameter needles have to be easier on injections, as long as the oil is in the muscle. I had a discussion with the trained nurse that injects me regularly in the butt and her preference for an IM injections is never the thigh. It is more likely to be painful. Also, she was quick to point out that certain personalities handle shots better than others. In my case, not a `cool as a cucumber kind of guy`I react nervously. That said I still think that smaller and shorter is better. I want to try because there will be times when I will need to and the later in the day for me seems to be better for the fire and fuzz I experience. Guest guest
I think most who do the thigh is because it's easier to do yourself there than in the butt. The lateral glutes sound really tempting, but I've never tried there. I like my delt too, with a 5/8 " needle, but the doc said he prefers I not do it there. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of louislarocque@... Guest guest
That nurse is just telling you what she was trainded to do. There is new cutting edge info comming out everyday that is new and working better. Dr. Shippen is comming out with a new book that will I hope be full of this new info. I try to get as much out of Dr. as I can but he seams to be giving out less and less info on the boards. Dr. Shippen dose subQ T shots every 3 days and found doing this is keeping his E2 down. I never had a shot in the rear that did not hurt for a day or two. I have a big ass too. Sometimes I feel I am making a mistake reporting this new stuff. I get this all the time " my Dr. said men don't have E2 problems " or " Doing HCG my Dr. says it's not good to do " and the list goes on. Guest guest
I think that you have a point that a quick injection tears the muscle to make room for the oil. Thus, a smaller needle slows the process down because the oil cannot pass that quickly (all things remaining the same). A smaller diameter syringe will allow you to generate more pressure also. Bottom line sounds like a smaller needle is the way and ease up on the plunger force if the syringe is smaller diameter. Louis
