Guest guest
Hey - welcome to the group The affect of the T is dependent on 2 things, how much damage you have developed from the low T and how much you are getting into your system. Once you achieve a level of 500 ng/dl or greater (depending on your individual needs) you will start to see changes over time. This is not real fast. For me, it was ~ 3-4 months before I noticed not so much weight loss as a redistribution of muscle to fat. The love handles started to go away first, then the belly fat and chest fat. You should start to feel some difference in the libido area shortly after that if you have been low for some time. If you have not been low too long then some guys feel the effects within the first week. For me the first indicator was I would wake up in the middle of the night, sometime 2 to 3 times with these raging hardons. Once you start getting erections again and working your penis, things should get better in the flacid department. Once again this was just me - I didn't absorb gels so I went to shots but there are a number of men here that do great on the gels. You will just have to try some things and see what works best for you. This is a great group so don't be afraid to ask anything. Guest guest
Hi ! Welcome to Hypogonadism Central! Nope, going on TRT won't make your penis grow bigger, because you are not taking a growth hormone, but your penis will feel much better to you and you should feel stronger and healthier all over. Can you tell us what your initial testosterone blood work showed compared to the normal given range prior to starting TRT? And what is it now? Also , what are you doing, injections, skin speadons? Myself, and Philip also on this forum, greatly benefited from doing injections versus skin speadons with overall body aching, you should too! best wishes Norton
Guest guest
Hi and Welcome, Did you mean Testim Gel if you just started on it and are doing 5 grams a day you need to get retested in 2 weeks to be sure the gel is getting through the skin and putting testosterone into your blood stream. Most men start on it and start to feel good then about the 2nd or 3rd week fall back to feeling bad again. This happens because going on T meds stop your brain from sending the messages to your Testis to make more T. So going on the gel will bring you way up and when your Testis stop making T you will come back down. Some men come back down lower then there base line test when this happens you need a higher dose of Gel. Your penis will hang bigger when your T levels come up to the upper 1/3 of your labs range for both Free and Total T. keep an eye on your Estradiol if it goes up or is high it will keep you from feeling better. I had the same problem was in a lot of pain not getting enough T. to your body will cause the joints and muscles to break down. Getting your levels back up and being stable on this level your body will start to repair the damage done by low t. So this takes time and it is different for each of us. Some do better faster and some take longer. Here are some links for you to read. But first go here at www.allthingsmale.com and Read TRT: A Recipe for Success and the HCG Update. You need to get your Dr. to add HCG to your Gels when you are stable say in 2 months. Doing a 250 IU shot of HCG every 3 days will keep your Testis working and keep Leydig cells stimulated. I went on this last yr. and now feel the best I ever felt in the 22 yrs. I have been on TRT. This link is long but has a lot of info in it ranges, Estradiol and tests. http://www.lef.org/protocols/prtcls-txt/t-prtcl-130.html You need to post your tests results here so we can help you better. Post the ranges and units. Also keeping your Estrodiol down between 10 to 30 keeps your sex life up and brain fog down. Most of the men hear have in the past felt they were suffering from depression and find on TRT this feeling goes away. I was having bad panic attacks and found high estrodiol did this to me. Guest guest
, Good to have you here - welcome. The other posters have already provided you with some great insight and expectations. It will be helpful for you to post some lab results, for even better input. As you, I have suffered for a long time and at 38, I am still a virgin and quite unsettled and mad about it. I have taken the step during the medical process to seek out a great male psychologist to discuss these issues, traumas and psychological impact that low T has and is causing. I can't stress enough how helpful this has been and my guy is a terrific, wise sounding board. For you (and me), psychological goes hand-in-hand with physical repair and restoration. Please do consider this type of support for yourself - given past and present hurts. It will make you a better man. Blessings again, Bill > > My endochrinologist told me I had hypogonadism. Guest guest
--I don't, nor didn't expect, THIS effect from TRT. But I've only been on " T " by injections (I had to make sure to say that because we are ALL on NATURAL " T " of some level, I think) for a month and the last time I made love to my wife, she told me that my penis hasn't gotten any longer (which I told her not to expect that because THAT isn't going to happen, nor does she WANT it to happen) but she says she can tell it has gotten " wider " . Her not knowing the terminology, she meant " girth " instead of " wider " . And to be honest with y'a'll, THAT was one thing I noticed myself about 2 weeks ago! I know, I know. TRT isn't supposed to affect length, " width " " girth " , whatever of ANY penis, but it honestly has mine!!! OR the only other thing I can possibly think of is that we have been making love many, many more times in the last 3 weeks than we did in the last 5 years and now my erections are like they were a decade or more ago (more like 20years ago!) and it just SEEMS like my penis, when erect is " bigger " in some way. Whatever the reason, I'm happy, she's happy because as she has aged and had 3 children, she hasn't gotten any " tighter " herself so with my erections being more " full " makes or love making sessions a HECK of a lot better. I'm no above average man either...just your normal, average guy size-wise who's never had any comlaints (said to my face anymway-LOL!). So , what you may find is that with harder, stronger and more full erections, your penis will " seem " larger and actually may even " feel " larger to women. (I don'[t know if you are married, otherwise I would have said wife). OK? I'm happy with my TRT so far. So's the wife! Aloha for now, Wayne > > My endochrinologist told me I had hypogonadism. The fact that we have better " quality " erections with more positive libido changes will make our erections stronger and in so doing will increase our size as more blood is kept in the erection thus making it bigger. Girth is more a matter of blood volume kept in the penis while length has more to do with the ligaments and connective tissue in the penis which is not blood volume dependent. Thus, girth improvements just based on erection quality should occur at some level while length will probably not be improved without other penile techniques. Guest guest
Hi, REad Dr. Shippen's book, " The Testosterone Sydrome " , $14.95 @ and Noble. You need to study the problems you are facing and you will feel better for sure. Your interest in sex will go up and stay up but you instant erections will drop back after a few weeks to something considered normal when your T level stabilizes. You need to get into the 800 - 1000 range to get the benefits of TRT. ernestnolan > > My endochrinologist told me I had hypogonadism. I am embarrassed to say, but > I have a very small flaccid penis. Guest guest
I am not even sure what the damages are. I do know I carry a lot of belly fat. I am diabetes. I have had no energy for the past five years. and have had intense joint pain that seems to be going away with the testix gel. I seem to have a bit more energy, but not enough to make a difference at the moment. I would like to know all the symptoms. They thought I had arthritis. turns out it's not Arthur then they tested me for Lupus. my endo found low testosterone. Should I ask for shots? My Dr. told me they are very painful. I have a numb er of health problems right now and am not in good health at all. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Dan Meatheany Sent: Wednesday, May 03, 2006 11:14 AM Subject: Re: I just started Testostorone replacement (Testix Gel) Hey - welcome to the group The affect of the T is dependent on 2 things, how much damage you have developed from the low T and how much you are getting into your system. Guest guest
, My hypgonadism was caused by Hemochromatosis. It damaged my pituitary gland. You also have some of the other symptoms, such as joint pain, diabetes, and being very tired. Just something you may want to mention the next time you see your doc. Guest guest
Ai - I agree with aSaxon, the shots are not painful at all! I don't know why your doc would try and " scare you " like that. The ONLY thing that may make them painful is if they (I let a nurse do my shots since it's only 3 blocks away and I don't mind dropping my drawers for another pretty woman! LOL!) tried to push the " T " in way too fast. The nurse told me that it has to be done slowly because of the " thickness " of it. Mine is in an oil base. Either that or my nurse just likes to look at my ass! Ha-ha! (Ahem-sorry....) Aloha, Wayne > > Should I ask for shots? My Dr. told me they are very painful.
