Guest guest
For me, I have struggled most of my life with low T (secondary) and am now 38 - it had become debilitating over the past 10 or so years - although like most diagnosed time after time as side-effects of depression, except I wasn't depressed!! After 3 days on T Cyp. my aches & pains went away, no more back aches, very sound sleeping and my mind, wide awake without fatigue in am or pm, and was much sharper mentally without confusion or bad memory. I am told that it can take 3 months to see fully about libido and sex drive. After 2 weeks, I had muscles for the first time in my life. > > Looking for peoples response to Test Cyp injections. Guest guest
Thanks for the response. How long have you been on Test Cyp? What's your dosing regimen? Have you been retested - what are your levels now? > > > > Looking for peoples response to Test Cyp injections. Would love to > > have a few folks chime in.. > > > > 1. Guest guest
Been on Test Cyp for 7 weeks .... 200 mgs. every 2 weeks. Day 7: 780 (1) and 460 (2) Day 14: 290 (1) and 410 (2) Bigger the spike on Day 7, the bigger the valley on 14 (780 or higher to 290) - and more of a rollercoaster. No clue why one day 7 had 780 and one had 460 - amazing results. > > > > > > Looking for peoples response to Test Cyp injections. Would love > to > > > have a few folks chime in.. > > > > > > 1. I just started 100mg per week CYP injections...I posted about how exactly you are to inject in another post because the nurse gave me the shot into the skin over my leg muscle, and I thought it was supposed to be IM, into the muscle. But, I am learning and hopefully, my mood will get better along with my sleep. Are you on E2 control meds as well, ? Guest guest
Here is my story. I don't feel my TRT was unsuccessful before TRT I suffered bad fatigue feeling of depression and worth. I got so dam bad I could not work and I was in my prime 40 yrs. old. I spent the first 5 yrs being treated for depression because not one Dr. bothered to test my hormones. Just think being on them dam meds all spaced out and not depressed. When I started on TRT I felt good enough to get back to work but was still not right and was off on sick leave more then I was at work. I now know it was not because of low t and my treatment but that they did not have it right as to why I was low in the first place. So here I am 23 yrs. later just finding out why. I had a bad auto accident with a head injury. So not only is me T levels low but my Cortisol, DHEA, Thyroid, IGF-1 and Glucose all very low normal. Going back just 4 yrs I could not have sex with out using a pump to pump it up and a ring to keep it up yet even then I could not reach an orgasm this had been going on for some 10 yrs. No libido just memories of what it was like. I could never talk to my friends or family about how I felt. Because to look at me I am a big rough looking guy and people would say you don't look sick. I knew when people say this it is the start of insults. Like just pick your self up and get on with your life. Well 4 yrs. ago I joined a group for low T and the first thing I read about was High Estradiol " E2 " in men and what it can do to your sex life. I had this tested got it down and got me sex life back. I am great full and mad that Dr.'s don't know enough to see this. Last yr. I read Dr. 's web site and started on HCG this was to start to finding out what was wrong with me and why I never felt 100% on TRT. When I added HCG to my T shots at the time I was house bound with bad pain in my joints and muscles. My back was so bad that when I stood up to walk the pain was so bad I could hardy walk. At the time I was on gels and going to shots fixed this adding HCG doubled my T levels and lead us to finding out I am Hypopituitary for a bad head injury. When I went on shots 18 months ago I was able to get out and walk for exercise and later ended up going to the gym and working out 3 days a week by last fall I had lost over 65 lbs. And was feeling on top of the world. Then winter came and my old friend Bronchitis hit me and I had the worst case of it ever it was so bad that today I am still trying to get back to where I was before winter. I was back on my ass again house bound and thinking this is not going better but getting worse. I starting pushing my Dr. about my low normal levels of IGF-1 telling him I read if this is low that your immune system will be bad and maybe this is why I keep getting Bronchitis every yr. He just told me I am getting older and it was a bad winter for this. I started ordering different tests and searching for answers to what the low normal levels mean. I came to a site about Pituitary Problems and in it it listed things that cause these problems and what labs show. And a light went off in my head this is what is wrong with me. I told my Dr. and showed him the site and he said yes this is what is wrong. It pisses me off that I have seen 7 Endo's been taken off TRT and suffered bad to be tested off TRT and not one of them seen this. All the test were done showing my low normal levels that were screaming I have a pituitary problem. So my Dr. ordered an MRI and nothing showed a problem. I had to dam near break his arm to treat my low Cortisol and Thyroid. Now that I am being treated things are looking up I am starting to get back but it is dam slow. I feel TRT works if you have your levels up high enough up in the upper 1/3 of your labs range for a young man and your E2 down between 10 to 30 best at 20. And your Adrenals are in good shape with out any thyroid problems. I have had a strong libido for the last 4 yrs. keeping my E2 in check. I can have sex anytime I feel like having it. And feel for you guys here and at other sites you should be the same as me. Because the word is out there on high levels of E2. Also I feel the HCG really topped off my sex life it's just to bad it took this long. I am 62 with other problems then just low T and getting on my life is well worth living. Guest guest
william what do you mean by (1) after the test number and (2) are these 2 tests in 7 weeks. You know as your on shots your levels will levels off not go down as low just before the next shot. You do need to get off this roller coaster ride and do your shots every week at 100mgs. You levels will not go so high this will keep your Estradiol down and keep you from falling so low before the next shot. If you could add HCG 250 IU's the 5th and 6th days after your T shot this keeps you up better until the next shot. Guest guest
Phil, You are right - (1) and (2) represent 2 different " cycles " . There was another cycle that my endo. didn't test during since she was away, so I only have data on 2. The first test (790 to 280) was a rollercoaster, as you say, and I had many of the sides that you mentioned in a few postings ago. She was shocked that the 2nd is only a peak of 460 - and thus not much of a rollercoaster, but no benefits either. My endo. only sees HCG as a need for fertility and will not prescribe together with T unless a fertility reason, despite showing her Dr. 's piece, etc. She is a top endo. in Boston at a Harvard teaching hospital and in charge of the residency program at Brigham and Women's - she is conservative, to a point. Next step for us is Clomid, but I told her that I would ensure 1 more " cycle " of shots. Interesting that she will treat with Clomid, but not add in HCG, huh.... I will keep you posted as far as my progress. Blessings, Bill > > > > > > > > Looking for peoples response to Test Cyp injections. Guest guest
Thanks for the post. The skin above the muscle is unusual. My doc. just told me the other day the deeper the shot into the muscle, the better. I have had 3 shots in the butt and 1 in the thigh, but the thigh was DEEP. No, I am not on E2 control like Armidex. It has not shown up as an issue in my labs (always around 20) and my doctor thinks there are other reasons leading to low T absorption. I had been VERY successful on Clomid 3xweek 50 mgs. in the past and think that this is what my doc. will try again next. She has spoken to other endos. at national conferences (who are using it more and more and only thing successful in treating low T for small percentage of men) and is less concerned about this, as a type of treatment, if carefully monitored Blessings, Bill > > > > > > > > Looking for peoples response to Test Cyp injections. Guest guest
Ask her is she would like it is her tits got smaller your secondary do to a Pit. problem right so why let your Testis go to shit tell her to read DR. Shippen's Book " The Testosterone Syndrome " he treats all men that are secondary first with HCG then if there levels are not good he adds T. Guest guest
For what its worth I've spoken to three doctors about HCG and they all say its not tested for long term use and they deem this sort of use unsafe. I understand that some doctors are more willing to use drugs " off label " for things like testicular atrophy but if they are right (Which I think they are) I would opt for safety. My primary doctor understands the male ego / cosmetic issue. She suggested I consider how important this is and if it really is that important talk to a urologist of cosmetic surgeon about implants. Which I did. The uroligist was one of the Doctors who said no to HCG for the same reason btw. I think some of this depends on your need or desire for fertility. If there is a chance you will want to impregnate anyone by all means go on a short course of Clomid or HCG and bank sperm. Part of it is that frankly speaking regular injections don't appeal to me even if it does plump up my " pair. " > > > > > > > > > > Looking for peoples response to Test Cyp injections. Guest guest
Thanks ofr your post and all others. Your story is a tough one, but encouraging. I was so excited to get my first shot of Test Cyp 2 days ago, but am a little concerned already. After coming off of Androgel, I figured I would feel at least a little boost 2 days after the shot, but I think i feel a little worse...maybe I just need to be patient. But boy sometimes it just feels like life is passing me by. How long do I have to wait? Guest guest
Hang in there. Let's see what the next 2 days might bring. Also, there might be something also going on elsewhere causing symptoms - depression, anxiety, low thyroid, low adrenals??? Have you been thoroughly checked out for all?? You need to have faith that you will find a resolution to the problem either these 2 weeks or the next or the next or with a different type of treatment. I know it's hard - I have suffered bad for 15+ years. However, I am full of optimism that tommorow might be better than today. Guest guest
When going from Androgel to shots you do both the day of the shot and stop the androgel the next day. What size needle did you use to do the shot and how much of a shot did you do. You can feel down switching from gels to shots how many have you done now. Guest guest
Wow did you shot this in your thigh if so I can see why your sore. I use a smaller 27g 1ml x 1/2 " lg. needle to shoot. But if you don't want to do this the needle for shots into the thigh are 25g x 1 " lg. How offten are you going to do shots every week at 100mgs or every 2 weeks at 200mgs. 100mgs every week are best. Phil wondering2one <hopefully1000@...> wrote: 1.5 " needle IM shot. Guest guest
Ok but when you get tested make sure you stress the point you need your Estradiol tested it's going to be high. Did I ever give you a link to the AACE Guildlines on page 11 it states to do shots every 7 to 10 days to avoid the roller coaster ride. http://www.aace.com/pub/pdf/guidelines/hypogonadism.pdf Phil wondering2one <hopefully1000@...> wrote: i wanan do 100/wk, but endo want to try 200 every 2 weeks .. Guest guest
Here's my issue.. roller coaster ride assumes there is a peak. ive only had the trough. Came off Androgel 4 days ago and had an initial 200mg IM Test Cyp injection. I've felt worse every day since. This is day 4. So, nevermind getting to 2 weeks I wont even make it to 1 week. The feelinss I have I know I am at a Total T of 300ish. Is it possible a 200mg IM injection has done NOTHIN to my T level. > > > > Looking for peoples response to Test Cyp injections. > > > Would love to > > > > have a few folks chime in.. > > > > > > > > 1. Guest guest
Big ass shots like this can spick up your Estradiol and make you feel like crap. But it's hard to say what the hell is going on. Some feel bad after a big shot like that if you were just starting and never did anything to get your T levels up the best way to start shots is to do 200mgs. for the first shot then the next week do 100mgs. But going from Androgel most do a 100mgs and the gel the first day then stop the gel the next. I can't say what is going on I can handle a dam big shot never felt bad on them. I only feel bad when my levels go down or my E2 goes way up. I don't feel you at 300 here read this link I hope I have not giveing you a link I all ready gave you but in this it shows where your levels go after a 200mg. shot. http://forum.mesomorphosis.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=6413 & d=1139879356 If your not feeling better by Monday morning call your Dr. and get tested to see what the hell is going on. Guest guest
Sounds somewhat familiar. I checked my notes and back in '03 when I came off Androgel, I had my first injection at the Dr. office. The injection was 400mg and was supposed to last for a month. I noted that after three days, I was " dragging ass " and that after seven days things picked up but seemed " overpowering. " Same thing with the second (and last) monthly injection. After one week, I was able to do some exercises on the elliptical trainer, but after two weeks (half- way into the month) I was wiped out. At that point, I went to self- injections of 100mg/week and that was a lot better. I suspect your " trough " you're having could actually be an overdosed " peak. " (But don't quote me, I'm not a doctor.) Rich > > Here's my issue.. roller coaster ride assumes there is a peak. ive > only had the trough. I was on Androgel and doing good ( not great but progress ) and switched to the shot. They gave me a 200mg shot Thursday and I have had two bad days. It seems to be....'super slowly' coming around right now. This evening is a little better than last. Would be my 3rd night after the shot now. I suspect I also had too high an injection. Im looking forward to coming to a lower dose because I think I was on the path to feeling better with 7.5mg Androgel per day and I am worse feeling now than when I was on that dose of gel. Hopefully, in the upcoming week, I will start to level out and do the 100mg shot myself on Thanksgiving day and every Thursday after. I seem to be able to handle the day, but as the night comes around, I feel wiped out. My situation is compounded with the fact that I don't sleep without AmbienCR every night. If I slept normally and recovered with restful sleep, it may help my situation. I get about 5 hours of sleep per night with that pill and if I don't take it...Im lucky to get 2-3. I'm praying that when I finally get a level Testosterone balance, my sleep pattern will improve. Just don't stop looking for answers...God gives them to you in whispers through caring people like in this forums. God Bless, Chris
