Guest guest
You said Estrogen I hope your test was E2 Estradiol it looks like it and if your were taking a half a tablet of Indolplex/DIM when you had this test yes up the dose to one tablet 120 mgs. You need more then just Total T tested go to www.allthingsmale.com and read TRT: A Recipe for Success and in this the follow up test you need are there. You did not give the units on you test but looks like your in the UK. And 5 is not bad getting E2 down will bring this up. Phil maverick_2414 <maverick_2414@...> wrote: Hi all! Well, I was going to see the anti-aging doc I found, but our fertility doc is an endo. as well and told me he would take care of my secondary hypo. He agreed to send a letter to the insurance company so I can get my hypo covered and agreed to keep me on HCG. 3 shots of 500ius HCG a week. He did blood work to check my levels and i got him to do an estradiol test as well. I had to beg for that estradiol test which threw up a red flag for me. Anyway, I am 42 years old and here is where I am on the two tests he did: Total T - 5 Range of 2.8-8 Estrogen 50 Range of 15-56 His nurse called me back and said to stay on the HCG as prescribe 3X a week. I think my T looks low and my E2 high. Phil, I have been taking Indoplex/DIM but upped the dose to twice what I was taking when I saw 50 on the estrogen. Am taking 120mg a day of DIM. Waiting for the wood to come back! What does everyone think? I cancelled my appointment with the antiaging doc which I think might have been a mistake now. I am thinking of going to him anyway. My T levels look low for the charts on here i have seen and I want much more thorough analysis. Advice is greatly appreciated! My best to you all! Guest guest
Hey Hank - my 2 cents You need to add arimidex to prevent conversion of T to Estradiol. Talk with your Endo and discuss this. This will do two things, drive your E2 down and T up. If he is opposed to this, reconsider the anti-aging doctor. You are mid-range on total T which is not a bad place to be. It is your E2 that is killing your libido and morning wood. The indoplex did not work for me but the arimidex is very strong so start out slow like 0.25 mg every 7 days. Guest guest
Phil, Thanks for the advice. I am going to continue taking the DIM but I have decided to go to this anti-aging doc I have found as well. On his website, they list a whole littany of markers they test and correct for (ie Total T,HGH, Free T, Estradiol, DHEA, LH, thyroid, etc) etc. I think if I go through his testing, it will be what I really need to get all my hormone levels in balance which is what I am looking for. I just might have to pay out of pocket. Our fertility doc is trying to submit a letter to get me covered on insurance but I am not sure he has gotten that done that yet. BUT, I have all his paperwork showing my Testerone level at 280 back in Nov. 2005 so maybe this doc could use that to submit me as secondary hypo. I have been on HCG since that first testerone test last year . Anyway, going to stay on the DIM and go see this new doc Friday afternoon. Will keep the board posted. God Bless, Hank > Hi all! Guest guest
Dan, Good minds think alike! I have decided to go to the anti-aging doc in town. As I replied to Phil, he tests for everything with the goal of getting all levels correct through HRT. I just got a bad feeling talking with the endo and his nurse. they said I was within the ranges, stay on the HCG, got to get on with the next patient. I want more than that. Going this Friday. Will post all my scores and my experience with this antiaging doc. Go Razorbacks! thanks, Hank > Hi all!
