Guest guest
My wife was diagnosed with stage 1, invasive breast cancer in the lymphs and ducts two years ago. She has been following a treatment by a company called Heel in Germany. We noticed a significant decrease in the size of the tumor very soon after she started the treatment. Her doctors ran tests and said that it was unchanged or perhaps bigger. But we could swear it was smaller, but weren't sure it was wishful thinking. Then it was too obvious to us to deny. Yet the hospital still did deny it. The doctor felt the tumor and said it was the same or bigger. They ran more tests and they came up with the same conclusion. Yet nothing came up on tests for tumor markers or metastasis, in other words no indication it was spreading, the lymph nodes were fine The second hospital we went to concurred with the first, they said, saying she had DCIS, cancer confined to the ducts and non-invasive. But wait a minute the first hospital said it was invasive and state 1 not stage zero. So, the cancer was regressing. No, they said, they meant they agreed with the tests, but not the conclusion. I really think they pulled that explanation out of the hat. Now,a year later, her tumor is tiny and no longer hard. We went to a radiologist in Mexico to do a Mamo since we didn't know who to go to or who to trust. After you get a mamo, if there is suspicion of cancer, they have you do an ultra. This doctor refused saying he couldn't believe she had ever had cancer and couldn't believe they told her she did. He said there was no reason to do an ultra because the borders of the mass were too defined. There was no indication of cancer. He said all he was seeing was dead tissue. Could she be cured? Can she have a tumor shrinking in one location and perhaps growing somewhere else? Were the hospitals in the US deluding themselves, honestly believing she has cancer because they are so influenced by the fact that previous tests said did? Were they just playing it on the safe side in saying she has cancer and needs an operation? Originally it was rock hard and you could feel it protruding out of the nipple area. Now it's sunken in, smaller and not as hard--about as hard as styrofoam, but only in a tiny area. She does have a much larger, golf ball size mass that's been there all along, but considered to be cysts. I know you can't diagnose over the internet, but what are the possibilities of what's going on. My wife feels fine.
Guest guest
I am not a DR. I am a patient. I went though the same things your wife did. You had more strength than I did. My 2 tumors went from 2.1 cm and 1.9cm to 1x1x2 after my mastectomy. I did not wait when the ultra radiologist said they had doubled in size 3 days before surgery. Stay strong and ask questions.
