Guest guest
belle, to get the active ingredients a little boost you might try soaking in a 90 proof alcohol or in glycerin to get the extract also. Have a great day.
Guest guest
>Is anyone familiar with Green Tea Extracts? Any supplier out there or is >it something I can do at home like leaving a bunch of green tea bags in >boiling water for 20 minutes? Hi belle, Like other extracts there are probably various forms and strengths, but the green tea extract I'm familiar with is a powder with 50% polyphenols. Green tea extract is said to be a powerful natural anti-oxidant for topical use and has become a popular cosmetic ingredient. It's a bit of a pricier ingredient, but it is used in very small amounts. Typical use rate is 1 - 1.5%. I don't think making tea with bags of green tea would yield you the same thing. It would be akin to comparing making a tea (infusion) with rose petals vs. true rose hydrosol that has been distilled. Similar yes, but not the same product at all. >I see it alot here as ingredients on lotions, etc. and seems to be a big >seller. I know it has an FO called Green Tea. Green tea fragrances really have nothing to do with the extract. In my opinion they don't smell anything like green tea. The one I carry smells just like the ones used in big brand products, but to me they all just smell strong and perfumy. The green tea extract is a orangy powder and smells to me just like tea. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi , Is this the same method mentioned doing the Pepperming Oil? How does the glycerin help? Do I mix this with the Vodka? Would you know if I can do this with Calendula and Cucumber to get Calendula Extract & Cucumber Extract? Thanks for your response again, belle > belle, to get the active ingredients a little boost you might try > soaking in a 90 proof alcohol or in glycerin to get the extract also. > Have a great day. >
Guest guest
belle, use either the vodka OR the glycerin. both are just agents for extracting. If you don't want to use alcohol, go for the glycerin. I'm not so sure the glycerine makes as strong of a tincture though.
Guest guest
Bill 's protocol strongly recommends Green Tea Extract (saw that on Patty's list too) and I am trying to get some tablets etc. without magnesium stearate. Have not found any. If anyone knows any source, please let me know. I guess I could buy green tea powder and put them in capsules myself? - but how much is too much or too little? Guest guest
Green tea's very effective in healing cancer, but large doses are required. I heard 1g/day recommended. Another source recommends time-release. I heard it's best absorbed thru capsules; if making tea, squeeze the tea bag; use organic, caffeinated green tea. " 80% of the catechins in green tea are never absorbed. The solution…is...flavoring your tea with...lemon [or] lime [or taking it with] vitamin C...Researchers found a 50-50 mix had the greatest catechin-preserving effect " RealAge.com [7/09?] I heard that Pur Encapsulations, Vital Nutrients, and Yogi Tea are good brands. New Chapter's probably an excellent brand if money's not an issue. Green tea's synergistic w/bromelain, [fermented] soy, d-limonene, and CURCUMIN. Guest guest
Could someone tell me why Green Tea needs to be caffeinated to be useful in fighting cancer? I have High blood pressure and would rather use de-caffeinated if possible. Thank you, ________________________________ From: leonardleonard1 <leonardleonard1@...> Sent: Mon, January 11, 2010 8:24:21 AM Subject: [ ] Re: Green Tea Extract  Green tea's very effective in healing cancer, but large doses are required. Guest guest
High blood pressure can be helped with cayenne either as a tea or tincture or capsules. It opens all the cells and oxygenates them helping to detox them. Cayenne will stop a heart attack in less than 10 minutes. - s wrote: > > Could someone tell me why Green Tea needs to be caffeinated to be useful in fighting cancer?
