Guest guest
I had no idea it was made from fruit. Guess I won't be ordering any then. Bummers! From: ChrisW@... effect on the tissues of the body... but it is also a purifyer. Tri means 3; phala means fruit. Each one of these fruits regulate directly would this be okay for people steering clear of fruit?
Guest guest
Re: triphala: " would this be okay for people steering clear of fruit? " - mmmm... I don't know really. Perhaps Bee would know. When I took it, I did not feel any candida or hypoglycemia activity in my body. Fran :- )

It is best to steer clear of these products, and follow the simplier methods recommended in the " Digestion " folder. Cheers, Bee
Guest guest
I took Triphala several months ago. It did nothing. I don't believe you should take it on this diet because it is made with 3 " fruits " . Just my opinion. Deb
Guest guest
Hi Deb, I read that it works very well for certain types/causes of constipation, not all types. I thought it might be worth a try. Isn't it made from herbs? If it involves fruit, then I think it's not from the fruit itself but another part of the plant, so it may not have the same effect on candida. I just checked, it says it's a proprietary herbal blend from Amla, Behada and Harada. I'm unfamiliar with these, but it doesn't sound like it's from the actual fruit if it says herbal. I hope it will be ok, I really need to try something to eliminate better. Elyse On 2/11/07, Deb Comcast <deborah.harper@...> wrote: > > I took Triphala several months ago. It did nothing. I urge you to do an archive search before posting questions like this. Here's what was written about it: Tri means 3; phala means fruit. I knew a lady who had to be on pureed foods, broths, soup, etc. for many months, and it won't hurt you. Bee
Guest guest
An alternative doctor once told me that the barley in Inka is ok, that you don't get gluten from it because they use a different part of the plant. I thought and check if there might be a difference in this case too. Another example I can think of, is I think lemon balm is leaves from the lemon tree, but different properties than lemons. I didn't see anything specific in the archives about the fact that it says it's a herb, sounding like it's not directly from the fruit. From this last post it sounds like triphala is out anyway. If you are desperate to fix your constipation do the 9-day program and/or take Milk of Magnesia. Do ensure you are taking plenty of digestive enzymes, sauerkraut, lemon & ocean sea salt drink and fats. Bee

All grains are not allowed on the candida diet which is explained in my main article; I suggest you re-read those sections. > Another example I can think of, is I think lemon balm is > leaves from the lemon tree, but different properties than lemons. Guest guest
Thank you Bee, I think I will pass on the Triphala if it could be a problem for candida. I've worked to hard to ruin it now :-) I wanted your opinion before I went ahead with anything that could be detrimental, thank you. Guest guest
Bee, I'm not having barley or any grains whatsoever. I was just using an example from what a doctor told me many years ago, before I realized I need to go grain-free. At the time I thought I just need to go gluten-free. So, no problem here, I don't touch the stuff. I do find it interesting though that he said the different part of the plant doesn't have gluten. (Inka is not ok anyway, it has beetroot and rye as well). Guest guest
This forum is interesting as I have learned new things like zeolite. Has anyone tried triphala? It has a lot of medicinal value. I have taken it for years as a general supplement. It is one of the most used formulas in India. Here is a link and triphala's benefits on pancreatic cancer, the most insidious of cancers. http://www.scienceblog.com/cms/triphala-hinders-growth-pancreatic-cancer-cells-1\ 3041.html \GB
