Hi Veronika! I had a baby in October and started a healthy lifestyle the minute

he was born. <grin> I couldn't wait to get my body back. I started simply with

diet...I didn't go on a restricted calorie diet but I did start eating a lot

more fresh foods, cut out the junk food, processed food, fast food and

completely cut out sodas. I limited myself to two cups of coffee in the

morning. It's hard for me not count calories but I'm obsessed with the numbers.

I eat when I'm hungry and it seems to keep up with the my son's nursing demands,

though he has started to wean himself. He's become interested in drinking from

my cups. So, I've started him on sippy cups. I tried to walk daily with the

children either in the stroller or with the baby in the front carrier. After I

had my six week check up, I started the real tough stuff...using weights and

cardio.

Just my thoughts....good luck!

Veronika,

Read the book, read the book, read the book. Then do what it says and

you¹ll be fine. It¹s laid out very simply. I see a lot of folks trying to

read too much into this simple program. It¹s the easiest out there and it¹s

the one that can change your life and be your plan for life. When I first

did BFL, my friend Beer Goggle gave me the book and said, ³just read

it Doc, then do what it says and you¹ll be fine². is the manager of a

title company, his job is beyond stressful yet every day you can find him

with his chicken and rice, in some form, doing what he¹s supposed to. He¹s

also a very beautiful man, which doesn¹t hurt ;-) At 45 he still plays

competitive soccer. He is determined to not live his father¹s legacy of an

early death brought on by neglect. His father (who was overweight his whole

life) died in his mid-fifties of colon cancer. I started BFL on my own, not

knowing groups like this existed and was quite successful with this program,

just by checking in with what was having for lunch. I lost 17 pounds

on the first challenge and tend to lose that per challenge, WHEN I do what I

should, follow the rules and apply myself. (I just finished a horrible 12

week cycle that would be embarrassing if I hadn¹t added 10 pounds to my

bench press.) I think 15-25 pounds is reasonable depending on how far out

of shape someone is and how far they have to go. I see people complaining

about ³only² losing 20 pounds and I wonder what¹s wrong with their heads

that they can¹t accept that as a successful 12 week program. I would either

keep a journal or maybe start a blog. I started a blog. A blog creates

accountability. In my case there is no mystery as to what went wrong for me

these last 12 weeks. Skwigg¹s blog is a lot of fun to read, and for you

gals with young children, my favorite is http://www.dooce.com She¹ll make

you smile and appreciate your little ones even more. Anyway, if you¹ve read

the book and you still have questions, Skwigg has some great stuff on her

page, and you might check out the Eating for Life book. Additionally, if

you go back into our archives there are tons of excellent recipe ideas.

There are also recipes on the official body for life page. E-diets will

work out your recipes for you and even give you a shopping list. I always

change it so that I have the same meal a couple of times a week because I

live alone and stuff gets wasted otherwise. Just remember the failure to

plan is a plan for failure.

Veronika,

I nursed two babies, so I know how you feel. Definately add

calories, you're still eating for two. Probably add about 500

calories to the regular BFL plan. Be careful when starting work out

again even after 6 weeks. Doing too much can start up bleeding

again. You're probably ready to start very light walking. You also

might check out www.collagevideo.com or amazon for postpartum

workouts. They're really corny, but it can help you figure out what

exercises to do first.

,

It is overwhelming isnt it? I have saID THAT SO MANY TIMES MYSELF AND SAT

AND CRIED NOT KNOWING WHICH WAY TO GO. So I totally understand. What kind of

leukemia did have? Feel free to email me privately Hon if you wish.

, you must be very scared in your situation. I haven't had the

nerve to get a PET scan for the same reason -- fear.

But I do think we've figured out things that DEFINITELY do work, and

you can certainly get cranked up with those, if you haven't already.

Here is the list of winners, I'm pretty sure:

Low Dose Naltrexone

Oleander or Sutherlandia OPC

Artemisinin

IP6 / inositol

FO / CC with coenzyme Q10

High doses of iodine

SUNSHINE!!! If not sunshine, at least 10,000 units of vitamin D3

Immune boosters -- beta glucan and/or ABM and/or other mushroom mixes

Possibly bloodroot and/or black salve, although I'm a bit leery of

taking bloodroot internally because I think it can eat holes in your

gut.

Oxygenation via FO / CC, coenzyme Q10, alkalinity, moderate exercise,

deep breathing.

Endorphin release through LDN, exercise, positive attitude, prayer,

praising God, and laughter. ENDORPHINS KILL CANCER. Fear kills

endorphins. How do we stay fearless?

Too high a protein intake probably encourages cancer. Too high a

carbohydrate intake probably encourages cancer. Too high a fat

intake probably encourages cancer.

Regarding antioxidants, yes, there are a number of people who say

that excessive antioxidants may actually strengthen cancer cells.

I've seen conflicting reports on the ing website. This is an

issue we need to look at further. Hopefully we've sorted out the

issue in terms of the Budwig diet? (Only E and ALA cause problems?)

Perhaps large doses of antioxidants are only bad if you are taking

substances that are supposed to knock the legs out from under cancer,

like chemo or artemisinin or paw paw. But even here there are

massive conflicting reports.

Alternative approaches are difficult! I think it's best to stick

with things we KNOW work, as I listed above.

I admire in particular Jim's hard-

Thanks, . Truth is, I'm just a chicken -- afraid of dying (a

big part is fear for my kids), so I push push push to try to figure

things out as fast as I can. Hopefully I've learned to do this

without rubbing people the wrong way. My frustration lies in the

fact that I'm still in the minor leagues compared with Dr. Mike or

Dr. or Dr. (no, not the one on the radio).

You can't imagine how great it is to hear my story in your email. I been the

WW route and have lost a lot of weight but never managed to keep it all

off. Nice to know I'm not alone.

Thanks,
