Guest guest
A little more lucid and less mood swings. I feel like I am talking t a real person a little bit more, if you know what I mean. I don't mean this to offend anyone. It's just that I just never seem to see the real child. Guest guest
Hey : Glad you are feeling better. This is definitely the place to be for healing. I'm sure Bee will look over your supplements and advise you. I notice that you are not taking cod liver oil and rather are taking fish oil which seems to be in capsule form which always causes me dosage problems. See what Bee advises but that does jump out at me.... plus I wonder why you are getting D3---you may need to adjust the A/D part of your supps by starting with a good cod liver oil as your base and then adjust your Vitamin A (as fish liver oil) from there. Also, your Vitamin C doesn't look like the right form to me. Bee recommends Ascorbic acid with bioflavanoids in it. How much Calcium Citrate, Magnesium Citrate are you taking? > > > > As for the supplements, this is what I'm currently taking: > > > > 1 - 6 doses of the electrolyte drink per day > > 2 - Vit C (Calcium Ascorbate powder - 4000mg per day divided into 4 doses) > > 3 - Omega 3 Oils (EPA - 380mg and DHA - 190mg both 3 x day) > > 4 - Vitamin B Complex plus 50 mg Niacin 2 x day > > 5 - Calcium Citrate > > 6 - Magnesium Citrate > > 7 - Vit A 15,000 > > 8 - 6T Coconut Oil > > 9 - Wild Oregano capsules (175mg 3 x day) > > > > Waiting for my Vit E order and Vit D3 order to arrive. > > > > My digestion has been better than ever. Several months ago I had a colonoscopy because of severe digestion problems. I had really bad abdominal cramps during eating, bloating and was diagnosed with IBS. It seemed to get worse with stress, it had subsided some prior to the diet but after the diet it's been very good. I don't have any more bloating, cramping or indigestion. I can even digest meats with no problems. *** Yes, Bee's diet really helps the IBS go away. The carbs and sugars make the IBS flare up. I use HCl for my digestion. > I don't seem to be having a problem with the good fats. I eat at least 1/2 an avocado a day on my salads **** Salads???? Are you eating raw veggies? They are not recommended because we can't get all the nutrition from them and they are very hard to digest. Try cooking your veggies and then topping them with butter or olive oil. (Sorry to interrupt, you were saying...) >along with my protiens and if I don't get enough fat, I've been supplementing with CO. I signed up for Fitday.com and have been following the ratios that Bee recommends based on my height. I will stay on this level with the diet and supplements like you said till things are running smoothly. I still get very tired at times and occasionally will have the feeling of very heavy limbs and this is usually followed by feeling > > very, very good. So I'll keep it up till the very good days out weigh the drowsy feeling days. **** Sounds like you are pretty much on track. I also go through cycles of feeling good energy and then feeling heavy/tired.... that's a good time to make sure you have an epsom salt bath and a coffee enema. They help get rid of toxins. (And the dry-skin brushing, etc) > > > > The pregnancies were definetely a huge strain on my immune system. Do you think I should cut out the oregano oil? *** See what Bee suggests, but if you are comfortable with your die-off symptoms now, I would think you could continue it. All the best! You should use ascorbic acid crystals only, with no other nutrients in it. You also need to take at least 1,000 mg of a vitamin C tablet that contains bioflavonoids, etc. as I describe in my supplement recommendations - find Vitamin C in this article for the description and doses: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/supp1.php > > 3 - Omega 3 Oils (EPA - 380mg and DHA - 190mg both 3 x day) > > 4 - Vitamin B Complex plus 50 mg Niacin 2 x day > > 5 - Calcium Citrate > > 6 - Magnesium Citrate > > 7 - Vit A 15,000 +++You need 20,000 IU of vitamin A per day, and ensure it is from fish liver oil, and not synthetic. > > 8 - 6T Coconut Oil +++Wow, you certainly got your coconut oil intake up very fast, which will cause you more die-off symptoms than necessary - you should be starting with small doses 3 times a day with meals, and only gradually increase the amounts every 4-5 days. > > 9 - Wild Oregano capsules (175mg 3 x day) +++You shouldn't be taking capsules. Instead use oil of oregano and see the doses in the supplements article above. Only start on it once you aren't getting severe die-off symptoms by taking 6 tbsp. of unrefined coconut oil per day. Guest guest
> > Hey : > > Also, your Vitamin C doesn't look like the right form to me. Bee recommends Ascorbic acid with bioflavanoids in it. +++Hi Marissa. Here's my recommendations for vitamin C: Buy a tablet that contains rosehips, citrus bioflavonoids, hesperidin and rutin. Some vitamin C brands may not contain all of these substances, which is fine too. Start with 500 mg twice a day and gradually increase it to avoid getting loose stools (diarrhea), until you are able to take 4,000 mg per day total. Ascorbic acid powder or crystals are much less expensive to take than vitamin C tablets. If you wish to take ascorbic acid, take 3,000 mg per day and 1,000 mg vitamin C tablet, which is a total of 4,000 mg vitamin C per day. Because ascorbic acid can upset the stomach it is best to take it with meals. Also it can be hard on the teeth, so rinse your mouth well after drinking it. Vitamin C Dose: Take 1,000 mg 4 times a day = 4,000 total per day. Start with 500 mg twice a day and gradually increase it to avoid getting loose stools. Guest guest
Hi Kim, I'm new to the group and have been following your progress. I'm 4 weeks post surgery for total right knee replacement. I have PT 2 times per week, no baths or swimming or driving for 6 weeks, exercise 2 times per day with PT exercises but stretching exercises are about 4 times per day. No running or twisting and limit the amount of weight bearing exercises (walking is OK.) On Monday I finally broke the 100 degree bend mark - I started post surgery at about 85 - 90 and was seeing a few degrees improvement each week. What finally made a big improvement are the following stretches: Towel stretch: lay flat on bed with good leg bent, place a stretched out towel under your bad leg (behind the thigh area just above the knee bend) and hold with each hand. Slowly bend your knee until you feel the stretch using the towel to support your knee weight. Hold for 30 seconds then slowly lower leg unto bed. Repeat for a total of 3 reps taking time to rest between each rep. By the 2nd or 3rd rep you will see an increase in the bend. Dog leash stretch: using a dog leash (or something similar with a handle area) attach the leash part to your ankle of the bad leg. Lay flat on your belly on the bed and pass the leash over the opposite shoulder (example: bad right knee holding leash in left hand.) Slowly lift and bend the bad knee, keeping your hips as flat as possible to the bed. Stretch as far as you can tolerate the pain, hold for 30 seconds then slowly lower leg unto bed. Repeat for a total of 3 reps taking time to rest between each rep. Heel slides: I aim for placing my foot flat on the bed when bringing up the knee. This gives me a few more degrees of bend in the bad knee. I also practice with the good knee so I can gauge where I will be after a full recovery. I only take prescription meds before PT appointments - Tylenol arthritis the rest of the day. Ice and elevation several times per day - especially after exercising. I nap at least 2 times per day - can't sleep through the night yet but it is getting better. Told him that I survived without prescription meds, but had trouble getting out of car at the end. Panicked a bit from that but made it. He is concerned, as he now sees that I am doing everything I am supposed to do. All the stretching and bending. All the exercises. He sees my frustration and emotional ups and downs lately. He wants me to feel good. He thinks PT should be daily, not twice a week. And he doesn't care if he has to drive me daily. Guess I had him all wrong. He truly wants me to recover. He threw out the possibility of acupuncture. Has anyone done that? I don't know. Also I suggested PT in the pool with an actual therapist. Don't know if insurance would cover that or not. Guest guest
 Your pt can give you a series of exercises to do in the pool if your insurance doesn't cover pool therapy with her, I did one day in the clinic, one day in the pool with the PT and the rest of the time did " homework "  at home and in the pool to keep up the progress. My pt ran up a page of exercises for me to do on my own and laminated it in plastic so the water wouldn't harm it. There are a lot of things you can do in a pool to help yourself out and I found that I made a lot of friends in the pool who were also doing exercising and the time passed because we were talking while doing our routines, bends etc. I'm about 5 months from surgery , my PT released me 2 months ago , working with a personal trainer , dropped into my PT to measure my knee bend because I think it improved since I left her and sure enough both knees gained another 5 degrees, so the progress continues in knee bending but it's slower after the first 2 months but if you keep working it doesn't stop. Guest guest
You are two weeks later than me. I initially had PT three times a week, then reduced to twice a week at week four. When I left the hospital, I was only at 55 degrees bend. WAY behind. Everyone keeps telling me that, and that I am making progress. Yes, that is true, but then later they say I need to be farther. Mixed message? Maybe. Towel stretch I have done, but with sheet behind the arch of my foot, not behind my knee/thigh. I will try that way. I don't know if I want to attempt the dog leash one. Scared I will pull my leg too much. Very scared of that one. Heel slides I did initially with my good leg to see how far up I can get. Past the other knee. But with my bad leg I am only half way up my calf. Today I have made sure not to lay down and have my bad knee straight for hours, like I used to do. For whatever reason, my knee isn't as stiff. I am in shock. I did my aqua this morning, and about half of my home routine. I feel great. Hoping for better numbers tomorrow when I see the PT. One last question. Who decided your med reduction? I have asked and been told not to switch yet, as my ROM isn't high enough. Guest guest
Napping is certainly not going to help you sleep at night, but I'd suggest discussing this with your doctor and seeing if there might be a more appropriate nighttime emdication. Guest guest
How sad (and also great) that she has the self-awareness regarding her feelings and behavior. It sounds like YOU might have figured it all out while other scratched their heads. Let's hope her progress continues at this pace! I can imagine she will be motivated, too. How old is she? Ups and downs with behavior is also normal with kids so don't assume a bad day is a regression. Bad weeks, perhaps. How much DMSA and ALA? I love how the two work together with my son. I would continue to use the ALA along with DMSA since things are going so well. Pam > > > > > > I waited to post this, but yes, I think I finally see some REAL > > progress!!! I am thrilled. Guest guest
Awesome Peggy! My son's response to DMSA was more noticeable too (speech) and I thought he didn't respond to ALA at all, but now I am thinking that ALA may be responsible for decreasing his OCD and impulsivity. TJ ________________________________ From: Peggy <diamond12345@...> Sent: Thu, December 10, 2009 3:33:14 AM Subject: [ ] Progress  I waited to post this, but yes, I think I finally see some REAL progress!!! I am thrilled. This has been really tough and I am sooooooooo relieved to finally see something good happen. On the ALA I don't know how much I saw happen. I just could not tell because she was on so many supplements that made her sick. On the last two rounds of DMSA, it was miraculous. Her eyes don't shake back and forth, she is making sense when she talks, she is not trying to rip her hair out because she thinks she is ugly etc... She is calm and laughting and I could not be happier. I am aware of the fact that I might see regression but I am enjoying this for now. I even parented and she listened. She said mom, I am sorry I never listened before and I kicked and bit you. I just wasn't feeling good. Friends are amazed and their changing their tune that I should really be tough with her and really be hard with the discipline. It just didn't work when she was so mentally ill. She is so nice and well behaved when she feels good. HOpe it lasts, and I pray others see this happen. This is going to sound really stuck up, BUT I DESERVED THIS!!!!!! LOL Happy Holidays!!! Guest guest
I am really on low doses. She is a high reactor and I don't want to screw things up. I am doing 5MG. ALA and 5MG. of the DMSA. I did not see any bad side effects, only good stuff happen after the rounds. Would you up it if you were me? Guest guest
Peggy, my son's history sounds a lot like your daughter's: self-injury, aggression, " undisciplined " according to others...my son came out of it too, became calm and compliant without any change in my disciplining/parenting. It made a believer out of several of my friends/family-members too. Two babies died from my son's COMVAX lot, there were 9 other serious adverse reactions. > > > > > > > > > > I waited to post this, but yes, I think I finally see some REAL > > > > progress!!! Guest guest
I would not increase it at all yet. Wait and see if this progress remains and continues and then decide on upping the dose. Probably increasing only to 7.5 mgs at best. So happy for you! P > > > > > > > > > > I waited to post this, but yes, I think I finally see some REAL > > > > progress!!! I am thrilled.
