Hello everyone,

I just subscribed yesterday. I was wondering if any of you have had success

using enemas to help eliminate candida from the intestine. Right now I am

taking 20 drops of stabilized oxygen 2-3 times a day to get rid of the

candida, but have read a bit about using enemas in addition to this. I've

seen some progress with the oxygen but want to get better quicker.

I'd appreciate any suggestions.

thanks in advance,

Hi ,

Enemas are very effective way of speeding up the process. We have recently

been discussing lemon juice and coffee enemas. Also, garlic enemas are a

good thing, as well as Hydrogen Peroxide, which oxygenates the water. We

have also discussed colonics. Do the have colonics in Poland?

Tyra, welcome!

I was a vegetarian for nearly 12 years before finding ER4YT. I've

only been doing the diet (and only about 80% compliantly) for a few

months now but I felt the possitive effect of eliminating dairy and

wheat within weeks. Adding meat, and a lot of it, is still hard to

get used to. I had to ask myself some difficult questions when I was

contimplating this diet, such as, " am I a veg for health or moral

reasons? " . Once I determined that my main motivation for eating veg

was that I believed it was more healthful, it wasn't hard to take

the next step. If I would abstain from meat in an attempt to

improve my health (which didn't work) why wouldn't I reintroduce meat

and abstain from other things (ie: wheat, dairy, corn, etc...as

indicating in the book)? Of course, I did, and do and I feel better

for it.

As far as how you should go about changing your diet, my best

recomendation would be to do it gradually. I have a tendancy to

go " gangbusters " when I find something new I want to try so I spent

the first week clearing my kitchen and pantry of all avoids and my

first non-veggie meal was a buffalo burger. I would not recomend

doing what I did ;) After that burger I felt like I was trying to

digest a brick for three days.

There's a lot of good advice and encouragement here and on the ER

website. Give it a shot. If it works, stick with it. If it

doesn't, you've lost nothing.

Faith and Joy,

Eva

> Greetings to all!

>

> My name is Tyra and I just recently read ER4YT for the first time.

My friend gave this book to me a few years back but I never read it

because I skipped to the section on " O's " and saw that we are the big

meat eaters. The problem for me was that I have been a vegetarian

for 8 years. So, a few years back when I read only the abstract page

for O's I dismissed the book. Well, I have had 2 babies since then

and have been in the midst of full blown sugar cravings. I read

another book about the importance of eating carbs with protein to

decrease sugar cravings. Before reading ER4YT, I had decided to

reintroduce fish, particularly salmon and tuna, into my diet. My

body is most certainly out of whack because it takes too long for me

to lose my postpartum weight and the cravings. I am so excited to

find this book because the truth in it really resonates with me. The

only problem is that one of the reasons I became a vegetarian is that

I do not like meat. Never really did as a child and phased it out in

my young adulthood (I am 34). My body actually felt better after

giving up pork and beef and I noticed improvements giving up fish and

poultry. But, my body is calling for something different. Before

reading ER4YT, I had only planned on eating fish occasionally but now

realize that I need to make it a daily part of my diet. I have no

desire to eat meat but am okay with the fish. My question is how

have other ex-vegetarians or people who do not like meat handled

integrating the diet for O's into their lives?

I've been taking Lexapro for about 3 months, maybe a little longer, and I still

have episodes of depression. When I was taking Zoloft I would also have the

same. The episodes aren't so frequent or severe as they were.

Hi everyone,

I am brand new to the group and fairly new to Lexapro. I have been

taking it for about 8 weeks now (10mg) for anxiety. I was wondering

if those of you who have been using it for awhile ever have

recurrances of your symptoms? It seemed to immediately help my

anxiety within a few days of starting the medication. However,

Monday I had a " spell " of my anxiety reappear...it was also after

being told about an upcoming stressful event at work. Does anyone

have any similar experience with Lexapro of symptoms coming back

after being " cured " for several weeks?

Thanks in advance. I appreciate all the great info I've already

found here in your group!!

Hi Laressa ~ ~ Welcome *smiles*. It has been my experience that I

have had to move my dose levels up and down over the past 1-1/2

years. There was a slump period that I felt no benefit of Lexapro and

then after waiting it through and adjusting my medication it

stabilized.

Dana,

how long was your slump? I am still at just wanting to burst into tears..

As happened when I was rejected for temp. disability yesterday. I am

talking verging on suicidal. That is not an appropriate response to a

situation that I bet can be handled. So???? how is the lex helping???

Laressa ..hi I have been on lex about 4 weeks ( real low dose) It doesn't

really seem to be helping me much...and yes...seee above...when something

stressful happens I REALLY loose it. BUT maybe your response to a

stressfull upcoming event is normal...most people would get a bit nervous

right?

Hi there,

I'd say your reaction wasn't necessarily anything to be worried about.

The question is: Was your anxious spell in proportion to

the " stressful event " at work? If it was out of proportion to the

event, then you may need to up your dose. If it was in proportion to

the event, then it's nothing to worry about.

Even if the Lex is working, it doesn't mean that you'll never ever

feel anxious or sad again. It just means (if it's working) that your

reactions to events will be appropriate to the circumstances.

Before doing anything, talk to your doctor and/or therapist about

your anxious spell.

I don't remember exactly how long Alison :) but I do remember that

it occurred and I inquired with my psychiatrist about it. It has

been a discussion here on this group on and off for the past year.

I am a little worried with your remark about sui*ide !!!! Is your

depression affecting you in this way Alison ???? I am very sorry

your short term disability didn't work out :( You can appeal this,

you know as that is always your right. You can also be your own

advocate in this instance, however, if you chose to contact the

insurance company, be careful what you say too, okay?

Hi Larissa ~ ~ I just wanted to let you know that I had a panic

attack today. Now, I have alot of medication on board and have for a

very long time and I was utterly caught off guard when this

happened. I believe that my having to face going back to work, since

my LTD was denied, may have triggered this and other breakthroughs I

have been having recently as well and I am looking at this as super-

sonic stress right now, LOL. So, I believe that breakthroughs can

occur.

Dear Dana,

thank you . you are always so helpful. :)

I am going to call unemployment monday and try to straighten things out.

I cannot afford a lawyer and do not think i really need one as I am

" sick " and they did not jreject me because they think I am not . It was

because I am on unemployment so I think there is confusion afoot.

In the meantime...I am having sever panic waiting for monday to come

round as I have no savings to tide me over.

Oh the suicide thing..well Ia m not or was not depressed even until the

lexapreo. I would not do it ... I just feel so stuck and when something

like this comes up where my whole reality is threatened to come crashing

down I do not do well. I have not much energy to deal with it. feel sick

all over.

I too am in the process of looking for a new job. I can't go back

into my career field however, looking for a new job is opening

possibilities for me, I am no longer locked in my 30 year career, I

can go and do something else that may be more rewarding. Not sure

what I am going to do for referenes. My state offers vocational

rehabilitation Alison, you might want to see about if you qualify for

that and also, for your legal help....... there is legal aid, which I

am going to use for my denial of LTD. Vocational Rehabilitation will

retrain you to a job that is suitable to our condition and then help

you find a job and monitor you while you are on the job.

Hi DAna,

sounds like you are doing great really. strong person you do not qualify

for voc. rehab because the funds have run dry. Legal aid is a great idea

I am going to see what I can do tomorrow via phone... as they are not

denying I am disabled ..it is a mix-up I bet ..betw. unemployment and

disability. I guess I will call legal aid if I cannot get it figured out

from there. I also do have a social worker at the clinic I go to for

meds. mashe can help...BUT usually I am the one telling her how this

stuff works.

thanks :) and you hang in there Dana.

ps curiosity what kind of work did you do and what are you looking at

You have to keep in mind that the drug is not a cure-all. It dulls or blunts

most of the anxiety. To have a bout of anxiety after being told something

stressful is normal. The Lex is there to help you cope with this. To give

you a buffer so you can learn to effectively control your own anxiety.

Some people can take Lex for a while and come off of it with no return of

the symptoms. For others this is a life long thing. For the short termers

the best thing one can do for oneself is to learn to control ones anxiety.

To learn coping mechanisims. You should be seeing a therapist along with the

medication.

For the people that have a life long condition, they can learn coping

methods as well. Doesn't mean they'll all be able to come off the meds at

some point but it may mean less medication and an improvement in symptoms

leading to an improved quality of life.

Anxiety is a terrible thing to live with. And there's no reason anyone

should have to simply live with it. There are treatments, medication and

cognitive therapies, that work very well.

For me, my anxiety caused asthma like synptoms. I've learned to concentrate

and control my breathing. If you don't see your belly move than you're

breathing incorrectly and this adds to the anxiety. If your belly is moving

it means you're breathing from your diaphram which is the correct way to

breathe. I'm learning to consciously relax my entire body. Most people don't

realise when they're feeling stressed or anxious how tense their bodies

become. If you can learn to relax it goes a long was to controlling the

anxiety, the level of it and ones responses to it.

I used to be an either or thinker. I was negative towards myself. If

something happened I felt like it was the end of the world. I was a terrible

person etc. I've learned to see that things happen that are independant of

me. Just cause my child got in trouble in school doesn't mean I'm a terrible

person or a terrible parent. It simply means my kid got in trouble.

I found a book that has helped me more than anything else I've seen, done,

saw, or taken. Managing Your Anxiety was written by J.

McCullough, PH.D. and Woods Mann. It was originially written for

Agoraphobics who were so riddled with the disorder that they couldn't even

leave their homes long enough to get the therapy they so badly needed. It

has since been expanded to encompass anyone dealing with anxiety. It

includes self help tools. I'm using this book but have yet to begin the

actual tools part of it. Just reading the first part of the book has made

such a difference in my life that I've not reached the point where I've felt

the need to go further as yet with the self-care portion.

Hi Alison,

I hope you have a better day today.

I, too, am concerned with your mention of suicide. I'm glad that

you feel you wouldn't actually do it, but it still is concerning. I

encourage you to explain to your doc/healthcare provider what you've

been telling us re: thinking thoughts related to suicide, and

experiencing depression on lexapro, when you had not had a problem

with depression prior to taking lexapro. Although you are

definatley going through a very difficult time right now, I've also

read that, in some people, antidepressants can cause increased

depression and/or suicidal thinking. Some have reportedly actually

killed themselves due to this rare side effect (although that is

controversial).

My point is: please talk to your healthcare provider about this.

It's too important to just wait and see what happens. You are

precious, and you don't want more problems added to what's already

on your plate.

Even if you end up having to stop lexapro and start something

else, please don't give up on the process. I know it's a major

hassle to find something that works, but it's worth the trouble. It

took me forever to find something that worked for me, with tolerable

side effects.

Anyway, take care.

I'll be away from a computer for several days, so if you reply and

I don't respond, that's why. :)

Hi,

I experienced a return of symptoms when I needed to increase my

dosage. If you've had a good response to a med, then have a

consistant return of symptoms, that may be the reason. I'm not

saying that's what you need to do, but it's one thing to consider

along with all the other good advice you've been given.

Take care,

Patty
