Guest guest
This seems to be part of a campaign to publicly dismiss vitamin c so more people will be sick and the drug companies can make more money. It's called cherry picking which study to to spend your pr machinery on for the purpose of corporate profits. fyi though ascorbic acid is not vitamin c szukidavis@... wrote: > > In a message dated 9/7/07 6:27:50 PM Eastern Daylight Time, > vgammill@... <mailto:vgammill%40adelphia.net> writes: > > > When fat is present in the stomach, vitamin C > > transforms from a cancer-fighter to a possible contributor to > > malignancy, new research suggests. > > > > Would this include natuarl food related vit c, such as oranges? > > ************************************** > See what's new at http://www.aol.com <http://www.aol.com> > >
Guest guest
Actually should be answering questions posed to him but I did want to say that it did not occur to me that he was endorsing that statement but rather posted this 'tongue in cheek'. If I am wrong he will surely let all of us know. With so many people using Ascorbic Acid/Vitamin C to combat cancer do not let one study, especially by those with an agenda, to throw you for a loop and cause you to give up one of the most beneficial supplements we can take. There was a time I ingested 10-12grams of Ascorbic Acid daily. Now I'm down to 5g but will try to get back to doing triple that if I can............maybe as much as 30G..............but I suspect I'll find that to loosening.............if you know what I mean. Guest guest
It is a play with words. Ascorbic acid is not vitamin c. Vitamin C is a live thing. You get this in live food. Ascorbic Acid is ascorbic acid. You get this in the chemical vitamins. ----------- Then there is the debate on what cancer is and what causes cancer. If it is western medicine paradigm, then they know zero about cancer because they do not have a cure for cancer. All they do is describe cancer and cut up, burn or poison and they have ridiculous standards where they call a 5 year survival a " cure " . Should western medicine be the basis of defining cancer? No way. They have zero cure rate. If the paradigm is holistic health, then we'd be seeing people get cured of the root causes of cancer. Turn their lives around by changing living habits to natural, beneficial and nurturing lifestyles. If people did that routinely people would all by handsome, strong and healthy well into 100. --------- What kind of fat are we talking about? Animal fat? Fish fat? Plant fats? I've got so many questions regarding this study. Someone post the actual papers of the study so we can determine what they did. Then some other independent studies, 2 or 3 try to imitate the same study. Of course it remains to be seen who is funding these studies and what paradigms they worship. szukidavis@... wrote: > > In a message dated 9/7/07 8:12:42 PM Eastern Daylight Time, > eesc@... <mailto:eesc%40filipinowebservices.com> > writes: > > > fyi though ascorbic acid is not vitamin c > > > > Please explain this further and are you saying it is immune from > causing the > effects that described? > > ************************************** > See > what's new at http://www.aol.com <http://www.aol.com> > >
Guest guest
This is right on time. For a minute I was afraid we would end the day without having anything new to worry about. Friday, September 7, 2007 Vitamin C Plus Fat Might Spur Cancer Mixing in the stomach, this combo encourages carcinogens, study suggests (HealthDay News) -- When fat is present in the stomach, vitamin C transforms from a cancer-fighter to a possible contributor to malignancy, new research suggests. Researchers at Western Infirmary in Glasgow, Scotland, analyzed the interaction between vitamin C and lipid (fat) in the upper stomach, which is particularly vulnerable to pre-cancerous changes and tumor growth. They focused on changes in nitrite chemistry. Nitrites are present in human saliva and preserved foods. During the digestive process, they can be converted to cancer-causing compounds called nitrosamines, which form in acidic conditions. However, vitamin C usually inhibits their formation by converting nitrites to nitric oxide. But the researchers found that when vitamin C and nitrites meet in environments with 10 percent fat, vitamin C multiplied the production of cancer-causing nitrosamines by eight to 140 times. Without high fat levels, vitamin C curbed the levels of two nitrosamines by a factor of between five and 1,000. And it completely eliminated the production of the other two, the researchers said. Fat remains in the stomach for some time after eating and also makes up the content of many cells lining the stomach, the study authors noted. Writing in the September issue of Gut, the team theorized that this interaction explains why vitamin C supplements have not had significant success in reducing cancer risk. Guest guest
Hi, . ANY fat, be it meat fat, butter, Canola oil, avocado, coconut oil, sesame oil---doesn't matter? Personally, I wouldn't worry about such a study provided one is eating 80 percent whole, raw vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds. tells of a study from India that he duplicated in which two groups of rats were fed their regular diet and 5% animal protein and 20% animal protein, respectively. Then both groups were fed aflatoxin. All of the 20% rats developed liver cancer. None of the 5% rats developed liver cancer, no matter how much aflatoxin they were given!
