Guest guest
Hi - It's nice to see another Dallas person in the group! I don't know anything about Dr. Cheatum personally, but the lists of best doctors in D magazine are compiled from recommedations from other doctors, which is not always the best way to find a doctor that you " click " with... and I think that is almost as important as technical competence. I LOVE my rheumy (Dr. Willis) and he is part of a big practice with at least 7 rheumatologists close to Baylor Hospital. At least 2 of the doctors in that group (Dr. Lamani and Dr. Sackler) are on the list in D magazine. Dr. Sackler is a woman. My father sees Dr. Roy Fleishman close to St. Hospital, and his partner Dr. Cohen is supposedly very good, also. Dr. Fleishman is a little brash for me personally. Dr. Barbosa(also a woman) in Medical City is good. Check some of these docs out. I am concerned that you are not on meds to slow the progression of the PA. Anyway-a second or even a third opinion never hurt... except maybe your checkbook! Let us know what you think, and I for one am glad you are no longer a lurker.
