Guest guest
Welcome Emma (and husband)!!! I think you will find lots of valuable information through the group. Some of us have P and/or PA and other's are partner's or spouse's of someone with P and/or PA. Seems as though there is always something of interest to read! (Va.) Guest guest
where > to begin? > Thanks, > Emma > Hi Emma, You didn't supply a lot info that I am sure folks will want know. (at least I do) What age is your husband? What Dr Diagnosed him? A GP? or a Rheumatologist? How long has he had and to what extent are his symptoms? I would strongly reccommend that if he has not already seen a Rheumatologist, that he does and the sooner the better. Once he has done that, you can discuss with the Rheumy what options are available & reccommended for your husband. This disease seems to affect everyone differently, and the treatments also seem to work differently (or not at all) for each person. I was diagnosed 2 years ago,(i'm 43) And I chose an aggressive treatment of Methotrexate skipping some steps in between because of my age & other wise good health. But there are several treatment options and your husband may need to try more than one to find relief. Don't let him be discouraged. There are folks on this site who have experienced very positive results (i'm one). But the treatments that work vary from person to person. Help your husband to remain positive, open to ideas, and willing to try more than one option. Best wishes Stay Well.
