Another good rheumy visit

As indicated, I spent some quality time with the rheumy today. We

discussed the disappearance of the headaches, muscle spasms and lymph

node swelling/tenderness and that these were likely reactions to

Enbrel. Yesterday was so wonderfully pain and fatigue free, but as

the prednisone dosage winds down, the pain, fatigue and swelling are

creeping back into my life. So the next step is to try Humira - took

the TB test and ordered the med, which should be here tomorrow. Also

they tell me I have secondary Sjogrens, which I have been suspecting.

I hope to start Humira over the holidays when I'll be home - has

anyone ever had a bad reaction?

I also am facing a dilemma that is of course a personal decision, but

nevertheless, wonder if others with PA would take on this challenge.

My son's father wants him to fly to Honolulu to visit him for

Christmas. All fine and good. However, this would require me to drive

him through the night to make an 8:00 flight from Detroit, and then

drive back by myself. I would have to make the repeat trip again (12-

14 hours round trip) on New Year's Day, in who knows what kind of

weather. My son understands the pain and fatigue, he sees me live

with it, but of course I hate to see him disappointed. My fiance says

I will absolutely not do this. Is it worth it? Would starting Humira

and doing this have any impact, ie., stressful and likely to bring on

a flare?

This damn disease reaches into so many aspects of our lives,

challenging our spirits and abilities to the point where we have to

second guess everything we would have been able to do as a " normal "

person.

Thanks for listening. Jane
